Updates & Idea Pool

Hello,

I was thinking what is the point of Updates & Idea Pool if the ideas are not going to be implemented to DO?
I mean do our ideas gets into consideration?

Please write your thoughts about this....

 

It would seem that lately it appears they have started to listen to the community some. So yeah I would say to keep 'em
coming we still have along way to go.

 

yes the ideas do get put into the game a few of mine have but alot of the ideas cant be done and lots of them are about people thinking of them selfs

Updates & Idea Pool section is for the players to see what they want in the game and what changes should be made but sometimes its not easy to implement all the ideas as there are different language forums each have their own Ideas section and it is not easy for the developers to implement all the ideas. Any ideas or suggestion posted in the said section should be really constructive and realistic in nature in order for developers to implement them into the game. We do have Ideas Index for our language forums and some of the best ideas are indexed periodically.

Also I would like to share something with all of you is Ideas Section lately have been spammed by may users for post counts and we do keep a watch on that section and also its been reported by players.

So all I would say is just keep it simple read the section rules, post constructive and realistic ideas to help the community

Quality is important rather then quantity

I vote for the Dark Orbit game come back like the past in the year 2012-2013
I think everybody want it too, the old Dark Orbit for every user they leave the game come back again and have same fun than the past in this game, or you dont want it too PoseidonsFury ? also i want BA_Vorlon_ he come back to the game and to the maps. #DarkOrbit Realoaded its very bad, i want my DarkOrbit from 2012-2013 and i think the other players want it too.

Well I really like the old golden days and even I hope that someday the old player whether friends, mods comes back

But change is part of life and we all need to move on

 

Yeah move onto better games were they dont treat you like a fool

 

done that^ done with this game i am now only come on to come onto forums to see whats everyone talking about now

 

I'm pretty comfortable with the way things are going now for the game, mainly because I don't take things too seriously.

This game is here for you to have fun. Yes, there are problems with the game, I admit, but NOTHING is perfect in this world. You have to acknowledge the problem, try to find a way to resolve that problem, and move on playing the game. NEVER let the problem be the source of what prevents you from having fun.

 

Yes i know the lifes moves and we should do, but its only enought with the game fix the bugs and problems because i already have waiting a month with no play my account because waiting for the Jackpot Arena, u think that is nice? :c I miss my Old Darkorbit they with no problems and no bugs and that was more friends and more live in the servers :/

 

The point of that section is to merely discuss ideas, share them and disagree. Rarely does it get implemented unless you get alot of players on that thread. And even that doesnt guarantee anything. So far some of the ideas that have gotten notice are those about lessening rewards for players killed more than 5 times in a row to prevent pushing and to prevent from bigger ships attacking smaller ones. Removing ammo cap is another. Adding items to auction. NPC add ons. So i say keep it coming.

 

More ideas than you think are implemented. Sometimes they're modified, sometimes they're years old but they do come from somewhere

 

Need to keep in mind we are just one language, there is over 10 others and English is not the most active. I think almost every update in the last year or so will have been suggested by a player.

I distinctly remember seeing ideas for these updates:

• Less lag / stuttering - Client re-factoring to include GPU usage and the eventual downloadable client.
• Purchase of ACM mines - Ammo cap removed, although it took it's sweet time being done.
• Cross server fighting / 1v1 map - Training Arena and it will be expanded later to include monthly season rankings with rewards.
• Making URI purchases go further - Hercules deal, I don't think anyone would be too surprised if one for Havoc or LF4 came out either.
• Cheaper item prices - montly discount deals.
• Turn minimap backgrounds off - comes with the re-factoring.

The thing is, the devs are rarely going to read an idea, especially a big one, and implement it exactly as it was written and then give credit with something like, this idea was by so and so. There will be lots of people who have written down the same version of different ideas.

There is a barrier between players and developers. The devs are hesitant to interact with players because when they try and get feedback on a certain issue that are working on they pretty much get mauled by a few select users which just makes the devs not want to come back if they cannot get feedback for the topic.
However they do listen, just no longer reply. During the domination event when we all said the demaner NPC was terrible, what happened? We got a free Havoc, then in the next demaner event the rewards were much higher.

In terms if them seeing ideas, I think the mods send monthly reports that can include threads in them and that is how the developers see and review ideas.
