Hi CORBIN9797, it unlikely that you will, unless the voucher code are still being given out.
In my cynical view, these random email vouchers are designed to get all of us DO players to subscribe to the newsletter, so DO can spam you when you give up on the game, in a vain attempt to get you to start spending / spending again on the game.
    :rolleyes::(

They were only sent out to emails that had inactive accounts on them, I highly doubt they want to encourage people to go inactive.

Also at this point you don't have to say "in my cynical view" anymore, I think after you put once every 2 or 3 posts you make people get the idea, you are cynical and couldn't possibly imagine that DO want to ever improve their game ^^.

On what basic do you make the statement "They were only sent out to emails that had inactive accounts on them"?

What does the recent rewards have to do with DO wanting "to encourage people to go inactive"?

I say "in my cynical view" because I am not making a statement of fact, but I guess most of use know or can see my perception to reflect reality.

I Do not perceive the current actions, to reflect a well consider team of, what I would assume very intelligent people. To have improving the game for THE AVERAGE GAMER / AVERAGE PLAYER /AVERAGE SPENDER as a top priority.

I completely perversive the current and last few years decisions, to be based on encouraging a minority of high spender to spend as much as DO can get them to spend, at the expense of a once great game.
That once had a world beating cult following.

Check out my chart in my thread Server Stats/Player Numbers and you will see an increase in active accounts after the bot ban, but that is short lived, because in my perception many players return to check DO out, because word of mouth had filter through about the bot ban. But those same players saw through the reason an saw the game had not changed.

Well you thought the sole condition of the voucher was that people needed to be signed up to the newsletter and so the voucher was just a way to encourage people to sign up.

The condition was to have an inactive account. I doubt they want to encourage people to be inactive for the sake of a voucher.
Just using your own logic here.

I still don't follow your logic of how a free ship and a free hanger to put it in is somehow going to trick people to spend their own money as if they don't have a choice over it?

You know the aim of a company is to make money right?
They want more players. There is a huge difference between making money from a increase in player base and making money from bringing out new equipment that is only affordable to the top 1% of players ... do you not see the difference in that?

Increase in revenue from the game being more popular = Good
Increase in revenue from game catering to top 1% of players = Bad

DarkOrbit want their game to be more popular and easier for people to get what the top 1% of players have right now.
    How dare they!

Do not put word into my mouth ( as in do not change the context of my posts.)

I completely believe that the change to compensation, Birthday Gate, random rewards, and being allowed to remain/ be accepted into in the TGC, are all designed to drive players to subscribe to the new letter. So that in the future DO can spam ex player / spender to return to the game.

again:- Do not put word into my mouth ( as in do not change the context of my posts.)
They do / did not want "to encourage people to be inactive for the sake of a voucher."
They want current players / spenders to subscribe to the newsletter so " they can spam players when they give up on the game.
In my cynical view They use these vouchers and other spam to encourage player / spenders to return to the game.
I saw the spearhead picture next to the "FREE SPACESHIP" but even though I new the offer was actually for a spearhead it was far from clear that all you would get was a spearhead, knowing how do love to promote gambling in the for of chance.

There is a quest for popping spearheads as well as citadels ( but a citadels currently costs 250k uri and would help newbies more ;)) so having a load of spearheads running around will help WW in there quest.
Also inactive players are potentially likely to check out "
Try the new Dark Orbit Reloaded now

    and get a
    FREE SPACESHIP

    by entering this eVoucher code:"

Some may start playing again some of them may start spending. It is not about choice, it is about advertising and focused advertising.

I gave you more credit that to be hoodwinked by the latest set of wolfs in sheep clothing. Maybe I have to rethink my perception of you.

In my cynical perception "they" who ever "they " are, continue to find different way that are perceived acceptable to the money makers to encourage a select few to spend way to much on a 2 d game and a few more to spend a lot of money. The rest are there to make the few feel like they are good so they spend more.

I total agree as long as that popularity is not just attritional player numbers, with a minority of high spender sticking around.

I totally agree, but I would have thought that not banning botters years ago would have also been bad, but we now know the reason it was accepted to ban them was that it would not have a diverse effect on revenue. The 72hrs ban ans removal of upgrades and bio in my cynical opinion was to keep them around and get them to use real money to replace them. Not to punish then for breaking the rules and driving away so many loyal customer.

It would seem that DO increased revenue by 25% ( I would guess just for a short time ;))as a result of that move and that profit seemed to be the drive to the ban wave not the hundreds of thousands of post from disgruntled honest players over the years.

In my cynical view DO want more high spenders to replace those that have left or stopped spending.
The new quests and all other significant effort put into the game is all about image and encouraging a few to spend a lot rather than encouraging a lot to spend a little.
Maybe BP/DO know they cannot cope with high player numbers, so they are better to target a smaller population of higher spenders.

But please note I only say cynical view because it is my perception, but my perception is based on well consider thought on the logic of what I see that has or is happening.

    Hello CORBIN9797

Thankyou to all for your answers.

Vouchers are not handed out retroactively. This means that you are only eligible to receive one if you are subscribed to the newsletter at the time of distribution. If you remain subscribed, you will be eligible for any future vouchers which might become available, but not the ones which were recently sent out.

    Do you have further questions?
