WANT TO TAKE YOUR MAIN TO ANOTHER SERVER ?

Firstly I would like to point out that I am not savvy with the workings of servers.
I do know that the jackpot battles take players from different servers and put them on same starmap.

My idea is this.. We can build a gate/portal which when built will give an option to jump to another server (building the gate needs parts which could be purchased, to keep BP happy) or use the generator to spin for the gate parts, maybe alter the ratio of energy per spin.

The choice of which server you wish to jump to can be localised ie. GB1 - GB2
or intercontinental ie. Europe - America. I suppose this would boil down to what is possible and what is not. The jump would not be permanent but for a certain duration, days, a week `whatever` Your original server would still be your home server.

The amount of jumpers would be limited to certain amount. Maybe these jumpers could be of a 4th company or as my idea intends what they where when they jumped EIC, MMO or VRU.

I know this is not a fully formulated idea and no doubt will get shot to pieces. This idea is born from comments like `DarkOrbit is a game in decline` I know from my recent experiences that the population of servers is declining, nowhere near what it was when I started to play 5 years ago.

For me population increase is paramount to DarkOrbit surviving.

Moving accounts to another server isn't possible at this time.

DO have fully expressed that this is not possible due to the data which needs to be transferred in order for this to happen. Not to mention the recalculations of rank and Hall Of Fame tables within the system. If people were using this "Gate" none stop, the system would probably crash or undergo crazy mathematical suicide to compensate for the new additions to the server.

 

Well explain me how it is possible on REMOVED and not here??This is just a way for Bigpoint to get away with the lie.If itis possible on 1 game, It is possible on all Games.All I can say That if they make this system be for 10 Bucks for each transfer it would give them money and satisfy the players.It is possible.Just Bigpoint desnt want to apply this system in the game.believe me, sending some data to another server isnt that hard.How do You think the stuff you download are downloaded??By servers that send the files to you.I have downloaded a lot of stuff from usa sites and I live in greece so It doesnt matter how much is the distance.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Re-calculations my foot. BigPoint is just lazy money lovers, just like a random college-popular teenage girl.

And not to mention, REMOVED is the most played game all across the globe. They just have a staff that's dedicated to the work unlike BigPoint's team that copy-paste tickets and eat donuts all day.

 

I need to add to my original post...
Using the server to server portal would enter you into a new ranking system. This new system would be more accurate than your home server ranking as this new system would be ranking you against players who actually still play the game.
I am assuming that players would not use this portal to go to Poland3 server to farm a few cubes, they would go to put there `lovingly crafted` accounts up against what awaits them there. Probably players who, if they are honest, are fed up with the same adversaries, day in day out.
So that said, the new ranking system would be pvp based, offering new titles which would be the only change to there home server ranking

 

Jump to an inactive server then hunt tons of npcs and win everything in auction and get tons of uri and creds and honor and ep then come back to your home server, tada! your the no.1 player in your server now. So no from me.

I suppose there are loads of inactive servers which would be pointless to jump to. I posted this idea without thinking it through fully. The idea was born out of frustration at the time. There does seem to be quite a few new players about now aswell as returning players, I suppose I just trust in BP wanting to get the game back to when 2k + players online.

If Dark orbiit enables the switching of servers with same ships then it will be a big problem to the one who hop that day some day they will be in top 10 mean hall of fame.
If changing of servers are enabled then the top 10 players keep changing servers and they are UFE anyways. Their will be no chance to others from other server to go to top 10. If only the player names something is in top in all server how will the game be interesting? If they are Ufe in all servers then the noobies suffer.They will be Ufe's anyways and they wont have much fun and curiosity to raise ranks and they would leave game after some days due to boredom.
So as per my advice Do is better the way it is now.
We Dont need any change of servers in the ships we fly daily.

different games different employers use different software so if its possible somewhere else dose not mean its possible hear the high definition itself would crash amongst other things if they were to try this idea ...dark orbit team have expressed in the past they think this would be a good idea but they are unable to do so because of the amount of technical issues it would present
