We want more uri

I think it's time someone to bring it up - we want more uri! And no, I am not talking about buying more uri, I am talking about buffing up the current amounts we get ingame. Back in the day when I started playing DO (6-7 years ago, who counts) doing bks was the way to get FE fast. A single BK gives 128 uri as we all know. Lets make a preview:

FE goli:
31 LF-3s - 310k uri
31 BO2s - 310k uri
Goliath - 80k uri
Drones - 8 iris (I don't recall the exact price but it is about 550k. Lets say it's 600k uri just for the calculation)
15 speed gens - 30k uri

Total: 1.330.000 uri

Nowadays:
All the above - 1.330.000 uri
Apis drone - 1.100.000 uri
Zeus drone - 1.500.000 uri
Bio - 10m uri
35 laser upgrades - 3.640.000 uri
20 shield upgrades - 2.080.000 uri
10 Havocs (at least 20 zeta gates, mid 160k uri per gate) - 3.200.000 uri

okay the last one cannot be taken seriously, as it is not a certain number. Same goes for obtaining the LF-4 lasers, the cost I calculate is 250k+ uri for one, but it is not set up. From the above calculations the uri you need is above 22 mil. And Darkorbit continue to introduce new things that require more and more uri (laser ammo, rockets, mines n so on) and the rewards from killing a BK is still 128 uri.

Back in 1999 in my country there was a similar situation - the prices of everything started to grow in insane numbers. People here called it 'Hyper inflation'. In order to fix that we changed our currency with new one (well same name for but values were dropped i. e. 1000 units of old currency were transferred into 1 in new currency). Things were even out, otherwise the ppl would have starved to death because of low payment and super high prices for everything.

What I am trying to say is that DarkOrbit need to buff up the uri we receive from in game features (not the one we purchase with money). 128 uri from bk when you need 1.3m for FE and over 22m now for UFE? Still the same price? I don't think so. The amount of uri should be buffed up too, at least twice (and it still won't be enough, but it's a comfort).


What do you think about your uridium balance?

 

First off, "we"? Who is we? Secondly most npcs are for credit farming. Cubes and Bray and falcon are where you get the uri.

Thinking, Thinking, Think.........Bid, Bid, Bid, takes time but way faster than making the uri. Who is spending the uri for all that stuff except the WW? With that thought BK works out great.

Now for all those other things, I feel your pain. Box, farm, gates, missions, repeat. Takes time, I know but what else did you really have to do?

 

By upgrading your Skylab and as the others have said making a greater effort in client you'll probably notice that things aren't so bad when it comes down to Uridium. We can pretty much bid for everything on that list in the auction house so there's no need to spend Uridium on the things you have stated above.

The moral of the story is, start using your Skylab to generate resources/ores to sell and pursue greater NPCs on the client and I'm sure you'll benefit from the fruits of your labour!

Note: Not everyone can afford to buy few mil uri every mega. I never did, I am a free player.

Cubes, Bray and falcon are not easy to farm if you are NOT UFE. For you it may be easy, but try doing cubes on basic FE ship and than come back and lecture people.

Quick question: Are you afraid free players will catch up to UFE and kill you?

Been there, done that. Back in the day boxing was cool, now not so much. Last time I spend and hour in bmaps I got 4k uri (included killing those little green balls). And right now it's like 40% of the boxes are dissapearing before you get them.

Pally build gates only and to build a gate it takes a few days. Even if you save all the uri from the gate you still will need to spend enormous amount of time online to get the job done. Hint: When I started playing DO it took me 1 month of hard work to get to FE (few years ago). Now how much time do you think you need to get to UFE if you dont buy your way in?

My skylab is maxed out. Atm I have 39k prom and 2k sep. Most of those resources I use to upgrade my lasers to kill things faster. In a good week I can make like 200k-230k uri, considering I spend at least 6 hours/day online shooting stuff. Dunno for you, but I can't spend at least 6 hours a day online every day and with that rate it will take me at least 1 more year to get to FE (best case senario, I still need to find LF-4s before upgrading them. In the last 2 months I got 2 LF-4s - 1 from quest and 1 from kappa. The rest 400+ booty keys I have used were junk).

 

you need atleast 2 years to become ufe and u must spend a little, if u want to be faster ufe u must buy a lot things, and normally only pallying u an become in like 5+ years lol

 

You know, FE and UFE isn't the same. Nowadays, you can still become FE in 1 month. It would be pointless, if you could become an UFE in just another 2 moths. However, I agree that some prices could be lowered. Not much, but at least so, that if new players come, they don't get FE in 3 moths and than have to play for another 5 years to become UFE...

 

Man, that text color really hurts the eyes. Be grateful for what you have. I personally have no LF4, and will not mess with those waste of key boxes. I get a laugh every time somebody post about using another 1000 keys and got squat. To quote a movie, "its the gag of a life time." To me, the ultimate goal is to get UFE, and there is no way I expected to make it in just a couple years. But I have lots of fun just running around with friends and doing various stuff in game, and forgetting that I need to be concentrating on the pally field, which reminds me, I need to see what I need for 3 of the gates. Go have fun, you will find you seem to make more uri when you are just having fun. Let those UFE players stress over their kill counts.

 

It's hard to have fun when you get popped by those same UFE ships every 10 mins. Last few days ppl haven't been even cubing in my company because there constantly are UFE players hunting. And they still do it in numbers. I have a nice 1v1 fight, the enemy runs around in my company map, I chace and I find 2 more ppl jumping on me. What's the fun in getting killed over and over and over and over and over again? I wanna be able to compete with other players, but they are sooo far ahead of me that if I want to catch up I must use every single round of ammo to NPCs so I get uri faster and it's still not enough.

 

Sounds like you are playing on an active server. Please share server name so others will consider joining, or running from. You may also need to take some time off from it. We just finished another event, which on US West, brings out all the event UFE. We will get there one day. Until then, your getting your skills up. Even if you were UFE yesterday, you would still not be guaranteed to survive the 3v1 you described. Unfortunately for us, the UFE have finished with their building up, and our building up is beneath them. Even if they doubled all the uri paid out, it would not be enough as we will still be fighting for our lives and the UFE would kill the npc and get more of what they are buying to kill us faster. Just a thought.

 

Sorry, but that's nearly impossible. You know why? Because people in ca. TOP100 (depends on server) spend on the average 5-8 hours daily by playing DO! I don't know how you see it, but I have better things to do...

 

Exactly, I can't tell you how many people have said, "I can't play cause people are so far ahead" "Support needs to change something". Yea let me tell ya they ain't doin nothing for the newbies of the game. They could care less, they main aim is on the wallet warriors. The only thing they think of is "Whats the next big thing we can bring out to get them to pull out there wallets?" You can keep complaining about this matter but chances are they ignored this thread the minute it was posted. Now Im not saying I don't agree its true but stop wasting your time and either play or don't. And this guy is right, they either play 8 hours a day or they spend 100$ a day... either way you either start playing 8 hrs a day or don't expect to jump up to there level anytime soon.

I play 1 -2 hours a day a little more on some weekends and I've been playing that way since the beginning I've played 1080 hrs.
I will never reach ufe in under 6 years or even ever since this game probably won't be here in 6 years. I can run a hard hitting vengi or a weak goli under around 8000 which is nothing.

I would go for and an 0 behind every npc uri count. I'm not a kid on break in fact i have a kid. For me to advance to compete not in jpa but just against most will almost be impossible.

But I do enjoy the challenge of the game and I love space games and this one is good, but it gets harder exponentially to improve your ship to an almost even level playing field.

Or spend 2k US

 

I do agree with you but to an extent , there could be several other ways of gaining a LF4 laser canon but really , this game won't give a crap about those that don't take out their wallets , similarly with the Uridium scenario , it is like this , if they enable free players to earn more credits or uridium more easily and effectively , they won't make any money.
So I do agree with you , but your thread and everything set out to point this out is futile and utterly useless , they'll just ignore it as they have always done

TBH I was expecting more positive comments on that. Now I understand that I have wasted my time (and yours, sorry). The way I see things now:

WWs don't want more uri from aliens. The reason for that is because they never experienced the difficulties free players have to develop their ships.

Here is the shocker: If you spend enough money you can get to UFE in just another 2 months. Maybe even less.

Another reason I see is a fear in UFEs WWs eyes is that free players will become UFE also and they will be able to compete. Truth to be told - some people doesn't like to lose. I've seen it with my eyes, even in my clan - UFE players that get popped few times in a row (about 3) don't like it and rage quit. I get popped around 10 times a day as a free player if I spend enough time online trying to earn some uri.


Free players like the idea and are excited about it. They know how hard the game is nowadays and they will really appreciate the buff up.


At the end bigpoint will not wanna risk to make such step as it will not be in favor of the WWs. They don't want it, so it's not gonna happen. Apparently the game now is about business, not pleasure.

 

I play GB1 also. I can understand the frustration while you are trying to get those lowers quest done but you should be able to get more done and not get popped as often in uppers. There are a lot of helpful players on that server. Make friends, they will help just because they like to do it. Also, I play free on that server and have been very happy as I move around getting things done. I can go through my rave again about getting FE in 3 months and being very happy about getting BAT and diamond without buying any uri. I am just putting around doing the missions now and working on upgrades. I stand by what I said about getting the FE equipment. Forget about the uri cost for LF3 and such, make credits and bid. I did it and got all that equipment, Aegis, Citadel, and a spear. Anyone can do it. Make friends, chat, have fun.... You will have it before you know it. LF4 and such will come in time.

 

Oh come on! You know I meant it just by playing regularly, not paying a single cent...Btw. if you spent enough money, you can get UFE in 10 minutes (enough money=ca. 2000 pounds during MHH).
