    Currently Chat is broken; it was fixed for a couple now its down yet again....

    Along with this Kamikaze is also broken dealing half and half damage to HP and shields.... Also Training arena is Experiencing issues and, Jackpot Arena was broken yesterday tons of people couldn't sign up....

    Not sure what the issue is lately but Would be nice if Devs or someone explained it to the community....

    Hi Revival,

    The issue with chat is not occurring just on DO but appears to be occurring on various other Bigpoint games also. As far as i am aware the Bigpoint IT team have been on to it and as it stands (Tuesday, 10:15 EST), things seem to be working normally again.

    Thank you for your patience whilst this issue was taken care of.

    This is so confusing. Is Dark Orbit a company within BigPoint, or a department of it? Why are so many games connected by the same chat? Someone should know the workings to be able to go to the common area of the operations and fix it faster than after 3 days. A weekend is a long time not to have things running smoothly. I so want to get a programmers skill just to I can fix issues like this. Holding my breath for the next hic-up...:rolleyes:

    They will probably run game chats from the same server; if there is an issue with the server, there will be an issue with all game chats. IIRC they have several servers for chats (due to the large quantity of messages that are stored) therefore not all game chats will be affected.
    Also IIRC they will have a SysAdmin/Network team working to fix this one if it is server related.

    The chat server is supposed to reset for each server an hour or two before the game server resets. I will never understand why there are not two of each at a minimum so if the system is down for something, you can just switch out. Also, I suppose there are 2 sets or more for regional areas since most american chat was out, while European chat was flowing. They might need a couple of teams and have the week split up for them. I understand normal work schedules but they are running a 24/7 365/366 operation. Can't always wait for the weekend and a day for meeting to discuss issues before fixing things.

    For god sake Big Point get Dark Orbit chat sorted please!!!! This is ridiculous for such a big company with so much money (ours) that you can't sort a minor tech problem. It's making playing the game as a clan impossible!!!! Oh yes... make sure you sort out some decent compensation for all the players on the servers affected!
