First of all , I would like to mention a problem I recently encountered.
I was hunting on enemy maps in uppers and a fe ship was giving it large on chat, so I went and popped him once, then twice, I was hunting in that players map anyway so took advantage of popping him due to him being enemy.
I logged off then logged back on again while I made a cuppa tea. i hunted a different ship on another map, then found that first guy i had already popped, so i popped him again a further 2 times.

The guy then threatened me on chat saying that he will get me banned for pushing.
    Now, my questions are this:
    1) When is shooting an enemy player considered as pushing.?.
    2) Is there a limit on the number of times an enemy is allowed to be popped.?? If so, what is the limit.?. as I don't want to risk getting a ban for shooting an enemy player.

It is a pvp game and is getting worrying to think that players could get banned for shooting the enemy.
I would be grateful for a good answer on this subject as many players have the same concern as me. now i will spend the rest of the day putting up with that noob ship winding me up in chat because he thinks he is untouchable

Just laugh at him, he must be annoyed at being killed so is trying to scare you.

You did nothing against the rules and will not be punished for killing another player. It is only pushing if you use two accounts to help each other.

thank you okapi for your reply,
I called for a cm to answer the question, and i asked the cm if there is a limit on number of times i can pop the enemy ship, the cm said that there is a limit.

IS THERE ANYWHERE IN DARK ORBIT/ BIGPOINTS RULES STATING HOW MANY TIMES A PLAYER IS ALLOWED TO BE POPPED. If so, what is the limit.?

I asked the cm what this limit was but they never replied which is why im posting this on forums.

i want to be certain that i'm not doing anything wrong. i worked hard for my ship and not risking losing it. i heard a rumour that someone got a 30 day ban on gb1 because they popped the same ship 3 times , don't know if this is true or not which is why i feel concerned so putting this question in forums, to clear the matter up

  4. Leon just ignore him, that story of 3 kills just rumor, go mad kill him till he logs off or stops annoying you, I have popped the same player 20+ times in a day already, this is the game, but like Okapi said "It is only pushing if you use two accounts to help each other."

  5. You can pop the same player all day but in order to keep from it looking like you are doing something wrong, don't just pop him. Pop him, his company members, and the NPC you find. If you are only popping him, it could start to look like harrassment which could be a problem. Pushing would come if the two of you agreed to you popping him just so you could finish quests or work towards a higher rank. I would not banter with him in chat. Talking to enemies in global always gets mess started. Just stay in company chat, which I know is boring on some servers, pop him and move on.

Thank you all for your assistance with this players question.

When you are killing a player in the game repetitively, eventually you will stop receiving a reward for that players kill. This is a basic warning that he is really not worth the ammo you are shooting at him. As for the pushing, if you arrange with another player to trade kills to complete a quest, or you use one account to benefit another account you could be placing yourself in a poor situation.

When players are kill repetitively, they tend to get upset and think that being killed 2 or 3 times is pushing or harassment. This is not the case... As this is a PvP game and the destruction of your ship is always a possibility.

    I hope this helps,
Does the OP have any further questions on this topic?

    Have a nice day

  8. I like how it is phrased...

I am going to start using that. All in all, Astraea always is a help...:)

lol, yeah that is a good phrase.. i thought that the term "pushing" was repetitively shooting the same enemy player just to destroy the player. i dont have any more questions on the topic but would be handy to keep this post shown, just for other players reference.

  10. Astrea is right. You can destroy an enemy as many time as you'd like but what's the point? Killing a player in the game repetitively, I believe after three kills, will stop you from receiving a reward for that players kill.

if i go on the hunt to look for ships to pop, i sometimes don't even look or read the name of the player some of the time. if its red its going to get popped. also the quests which require venge kills, are unrealistic on my server as i am lucky to see a venge at all, and if a player comes by and is in a venge ship then i will make effort to pop them.

  12. you need to kill a player allot more than 3 times to start getting diminishing rewards after the 6th time you will start receiving less rewards ( have checked this in my log), and this will decrease as you go on for a few more rounds until eventually you get nothing and once you go past this you will be considered as 'pushing'

  13. Well all I can say is that's is sad the VRU has given up. Going to be an interesting game when it's only MMO & EIC! Mind you, that's basically what it is now.
