  1. Lag. Lag. Lag!

Let me first start off by saying I like playing DO. It is a good place to meet new people and let off some stress.

What I don't understand is why the DO team cannot meet the expectations of the players to simply PLAY. Before you add more things, like Battle for Influence and whatnot, why don't you listen to us instead? For years. YEARS. We have been asking that you deal with the lag that is present all the time. What is your response?

"Clear your cache. Make sure blah blah blah"

Enough with the generic stuff. I have spoken to multiple people with high end computers and fantastic internet speeds and capabilities. Yet, they all have the same problem as me. I'm running 60fps~ and I can't MOVE or SHOOT. What is the point of an event that you made everyone so excited about if we can't even fly around a map without experiencing 5 second lag spikes?

Ok. Here's my question to you. I'll put it in caps so you might not simply glance over this:

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE PAY AND PLAY FOR A GAME IF YOU AREN'T FIXING THE THINGS WE ASK FOR?

I know that the moderators can't to anything and I understand since that's not their job. Why don't you focus on improving your servers? I HIGHLY DOUBT that its due to a lack of funding.

Why isn't the DO team doing anything? Why hasn't there been any recent update about "oh we understand your problems. We are actively trying to fix it and we have done so and so with our servers."

NO. NOTHING. Instead I see bot banning more often than anything. While I don't condone such a practice of cheating, isn't it interesting that DO focuses on things that might potentially drain them of revenue rather than improving an archaic server system that might be mistaken for some artifact.

Here's some advice to you DO team. Your players are leaving. Guess why? Well let's keep the nonsensical lf4 and other crap to the side. A great majority can't even play the game (moving and whatnot). Why keep playing?

Why keep playing and/or paying a game that doesn't have a responsive support team?

Why keep playing a game that doesn't listen to its players?

Why keep playing a game that brings false promises and unreasonable goals? (3D ships are you kidding me?)

And you know what. The mods probably won't answer this. I do believe that they look into the forums, but most of them don't have the power to do anything, which I understand.

What will you do next DO?

Do you want to keep this game alive?

Yes, I completely agree firefly although I don't have that serious of a lag spike you say you have unless I'm in a gate of course ;)
I just cannot hunt anymore. I have to be stationary in order to get a lock on a moving object. About a year ago this wasn't like this... I wonder what happened.

Have to say, I think this is the first post I have seen where someone is complaining about too many bot bans ... the issue you have is that this is taking too much time away from work on other areas?
The script is automatic, it runs 24/7 then will collect all the accounts caught and ban them in a wave. The mods are then send an OA to post about how many were banned. So 99% of it is automated and then a member of the team just spends 5 mins writing up and sending the OA to the mod teams. It's certainly not a drain on their time and taking them away from other areas of improvement.

Future updates are not false promises either, not sure where you have got that idea from. 3D mode is not unreasonable either, later on in the year we will probably have a downloadable client too.

Apart from those two points, I agree, it's very frustrating as it feels like there is a wall between the devs and the players that makes it so there cant be any interaction, only messages passed on by mods. I think the problem is DO supports like 12 different languages across their forums and they make Turkish the priority and so give them the proper community management and the rest of us are left with 1 person split between multiple languages. Pretty bad situation for everyone.

Is Turkish really the primary language of DO? Guess I purchased the wrong RosettaStone.

In response to the question "Why are DO's Servers failing to meet player expectations". The game does seem to be meeting the expectations of players that want instant gratification and to play a game where Anarchy is the Rule not the exception. The playing environment (ecosystem) is slowly being destroyed.

I started playing this game because it was relatively easy (to play) and there was lots of competition. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose but at least it was fun. Nowadays some supped up ships roll up on your Gate, hit you with multiple R-IC3, fire one volley and poof. Or by mere chance you win a battle only to be popped by the player you destroyed who has somehow re-appeared back at your Gate in a totally different ship. There is little chance to escape in defense.

Where is the fun in that.

New players get disgruntled before they get hooked that is why.

    The "way" we win matters.

    Without a doubt:

    Key points-

"The main focus for Turkey will be proper community management"
He also says that Turkey won't get priority in content but they get lots of events first and have exclusive events such as competitions to win LF4 and the Turkish servers have a design that gives both 5% damage and 10% honour at the same time. However I'm sure they would like to keep it a secret that one set of servers and one language gets a better DO experience than everyone else ...

  7. To be fair, the design is a payment item but its kind of sexy so ya...though this does kind of suck and I never would've guessed lol.

  8. In all honesty, more people were complaining about botting than lag for a very long time. Hence the focus on bot bans. Also, Bots do create some lag as it is a program that is constantly moving and monitoring. The lag is bad, yes, but its not everyday and every minute. Should DO fix it? Yes, but then at what costs? We might end up losing on some things such as new events, new maps, new npcs etc.

  9. New things that aren't delivered or are disappointing when they are so there's that.

  10. Precisely, in the end its kinda like we take what we get or we dont
