  1. I am experimenting with different browsers to see which one I like best for this game and am seeking opinions. The choices I am working with are Opera, Mozilla,Chrome,Avant, I.E. and Explorer Edge. Mozilla and Opera seem to crash a lot , but "F" keys do not seem to work well on E. Edge unless you use Ctrl.

  2. I have allot better performance on mozzila, but it works in a weird way. Heres how = on chrome i got about 15-30 fps in darkorbit and it wont change no matter what i do. on mozzila its really great at start aprox 60-90 fps. but it decreases overtime, after a few minutes its gonna be 50-70. then later on 40-55 and so on. after about 1 hour it becomes really hard to play. so all i do is minimize mozilla and look at my desktop for about 10 seconds. and fps is back to 60-90 again. so just gotta spare 10 seconds of my time every hour. mozilla overall is better for me when it comes to doing things in browser that uses allot of cpu power. but everything else = chrome.

  3. there's a version of firefox called waterfox works best for me. crome and firefox both i have a problem with click lag i click 2 or 3 times fast and i i freeze for a sec but with waterfox i can click the whole way across map and all good its a 64 bit browser made from firefox without alot of the drain firefox has

  4. Someone just told me about Waterfox after I posted this thread and it's ok , but I still had the same lag I had on all the others. I have to assume it was something with the game because my fps was 50-60 on all the browsers when the screen would freeze.
So far my preference is Opera . Except for the fact that the back page crashes every time I place a bid in auction (but still accepts the bid) it seems to work as well if not better than the rest .

  5. I use Google Chrome. I've tried many but it seems to work best for me. FPS seem to maintain a good balance.

  7. I use opera, it seems the most stable and reliable for me. 60-61 fps almost constant, never drops below 35.

  8. i use opera too. but as of right now. it won't load the plug in, any visuals in the shop, and the flight map won't load. is there a current issue going with opera that we aren't aware about ?

I use Opera as well and I never had any issues with visuals not loaded properly, only in-game when my internet was slow and was changing the ships looks into gigantic red squares :D

Might be the server, your internet connection or the plug-in being outdated.

I prefer and recommend using Opera in Turbo mode when playing and using the DarkOrbit page at the same time.

  10. If you have a low end pc try Pale Moon. It's a stripped down version of firefox, comes without the crap and supports Windows XP (for anyone that still uses it)

  11. i solved my opera browser problem. just had to clear my cache, etc. problem solved. for me that is :D

  12. WOW , TY for all your responses I am settling on Opera . I have a pretty decent PC and the only issue I am having now is the auction page crashes when I place a bid . But that is of no consequence because the bid is accepted. I like full screen mode in Opera and since all browsers were lagging on the same days I have to assume it has something to do with high volume usage. I checked for flashplayer to be up to date a long with updating the browser and clearing cache. However I was not aware of "turbo mode " and will look into that.
I am satisfied with current responses may close at DO discretion .
