  1. So I bid some amount in auctions, to out bid someone in the last seconds.

But... my bid is taken over the new hour bid, but with the last hour hi amount bid...

NOW: what is it? new bid that starts from zero or what? very upsetting...

  2. If the bid is too late in posting it will post to the next hour. It used to be 8 seconds but I have seen it take 12 with the current lag on the servers. Doing this type of bidding has always been a little sketchy as to whether it would be this hour or next hour.

    Edit:

You have to also allow for the data to be transmitted to the server. This transmission LAG is what is causing a lot of the problem.

  3. Little hind: orientate on e.g. your PC clock, which its time isn't delayed by lags. Don't forget to remember the time at your PC clock, when the auction hour will be ended.

lol wait till you try and rebid to keep it in the last 15 seconds and you get a robo check. That is the worst. happens to me a lot. T's me off big time.

I´m new to auctions and started bidding to try it out. I´ve noticed, never the less, that at the very last minutes on the hourly bids some "members" outbid everyone else by millions of credits at a time. This last bid, for example, that ends in another minute or so, I bid for log disks. Just before the bid ended a member, named "critical" bid 2,222,222 credits for the same log disks. This is an ongoing phenomenon for I´ve seen this trend going on and on and on and on...outbidding by 1 M. all the way to 50 Million credits at a time. Is this the "system" set to outbid everyone else (by far overpricing) or do these players have that many credits as to be considered "multimillionaires"? Can someone explain to me how is this done, even if it´s legal and/or proper?

  7. It is not the system, it's other players. It's an auction, people try to out bid each other , it's what happens in an auction, and bidding at the last minute is part of it. Yes, lots of player have lots of credits, I have 1.6 billion credits currently in USA East1, and I know there are others who have way more than I do.

  8. When you really want to win an item in auction, the only time that matters is the last minute.
You need to be aware of any "personal equipment lag".
You maybe bit by the " robo check".
If you are too late, your bid will carry over to the next auction (if high enough)
I actually use a kitchen timer to remind me of next auction, set at 55 minutes, WHEN i am actually wanting an item(s)
If you loose 1 auction, you have 23 more chances that day...O-O......
    PATIENCE is a virtue...........
You can use history to get a feel for the average bid BUTT "creditionaires" will get what they want by sometimes "really overkill bids".
You have to study how it works and come up with your own strategy.
I place a rabbit's foot in my pocket, stand on 1 foot and bid while saying "SHAZAM".........usually works.........

  9. AUCTION is just a test to see how badly someone really wants an item. It is so much better than the OLD TRADE system where you had no idea what the current bid was and if you were too low you lost the credits anyway and if you were outbid later you were again just out of luck as the credits were gone. At least now you have the credits back to bid again the next hour instead of having to work to collect enough to bid again.

I actually collect enough credits a day, from transfer to win a LF-3 or BO-2 each day (premium I can win both). Shipping to Citadel using PET Trader and transferring 12000 Promerium I get almost 16 MIL credits and depending on the time and day both of these items go for 10-15 Mil on the servers I play, YES I do know other servers can be twice this amount, but again it depends on what time you are trying to bid.

    Hello _PAIN_KILLER_,

Thank you all for assisting the user with their concern. We're sorry to hear the auction timer expires just as you have placed your bid. As mentioned above, if you place a bid seconds before the end mark it may be rolled over into the next hourly bid if you have not refreshed the auction page reading an inaccurate time. There is not much we can do about this issue, but refreshing the page will keep a more accurate timer and placing a bid at earlier times before it expires will help you win those bids.

    Closing as answered.

    Take Care.
