[GI] Login Videos

Please explain why I have to sit thru a 22 minute video to collect 100 Uridium? It it not bad enough to see this once but since I am skipping this video I get it every time I login for the first time of the day. I know I am supposed to supply the line to identify the video but I am not allowed to inspect the window when it is open.

 

I guess that with all the current game issues, more people are not buying prem and such so DO/BP have found another revenue stream- Advertisers.

I did note the little box at the bottom of the login video screen that says if you want to pay (real money I assume) you can enjoy things ad free. I have never checked the box so I don't know how much you'd have to pay to skip these ads.

Again, another scheme to make money since players aren't paying.

It used to be PREMIUM would be exempt of these videos and even my 2 accounts that are Premium get these videos NOW. Just too bad they have returned to these videos without fixing the issues that removed them to begin with.

 

This is something old that has been back for a while. Unfortunately, the ads that come through are random. They are for random companies, and random lengths. I have seen them for 30 seconds to an hour. Before they included music videos that could leave you scrambling for the mute settings if you have kids around, or for those kids out there that play, if your parents are around when you log in for the first time each day. They are supplied through a third party vendor, supposedly, and are not approved by DO before hand. It has gotten where I get the same type ads for different servers. One server gets makeup, a couple get business tech, one or two get something about investments, etc... I am not crazy about any of them, an if there are more than 2 minutes long, I am more than annoyed, but at any rate that is what has been going on, and it is way better than when it first started months back.

Unfortunately there isn't much more we or support can do about this due to at the end of the day they are relying on the marketers too for all this. We must let those responsible for the videos handle this issue.
