[GI] Boters, boters everywhere!

So after a few months, almost, without boters, they are back! And I am sick of Bigpoint doing nothing for past months. And keep introducing new stuffs and events and all these unnecessary things!

GE1 is flooded with boters (and not only that server, all of them are!) and you see at least 5–20 boters on each map! And geuss what? None of them is banned after months of boting and cheating! They just laughing everyone to the face. There are even Colonels between the boters!

Today I went hunting on 2-7 and geuss what?! 99 % of UFE players were running away from me (I play on Citadel). They either run and jump threw portal or I killed them.

When I came to the right top portal, there were 13 UFE ships and some noobs and none of the UFE ships even shoot. Only the noob players started shooting me, becuase they are the only ones that actually play this game!

I have a looooooooooong list of nicknames of boters but if I send it to support nothing will happen, we all know that.

Why is it so hard for them to ban these bots, that are destroying the game?! Just run a script and if sombody is playing 24 hours a day, or d the same things over and over again just BAN them! Or pick some mods that will fly around and mark the boters. Nothing is easier than spot a bot! I would do it myself, if I could! I would clear the whole GE1 from bots and then the game would be acutally playable and enjoyable!

So my question is: Is BP going to do something about that, or are we supposed to suck it up and let them bot or just quit for ever?!

PS: I am not a noob. I am UFE player that plays the game fairly since 2008 and th eonly thing that gets me mad and I always quit for a long time is boters/cheaters/bugusers and other dishonest players!

 

Well I agree. It seems like Darkorbit is allowing botters to come to increase player count. Also these botter will spend some money in some form so it win win for Darkorbit but not for honest player. either way they never cared.

 

"allowing botters to come"... Once someone is detected using a botting program their account gets terminated*, hence if they used an old/outdated bot that would pretty quickly happen. If Bigpoint was "allowing" bots as you said, then old detectable bots wouldn't get terminated but they do.

A lot of games have players that spend but also cheat, though they still get banned/consequences for doing so. The money they would earn off players that cheat, is also a lot more lost money from people that refuse to play/spend on such a game that allows players to cheat.
(of course also gives the game a bad reputation, no reputable game company would willingly allow such a thing)


*By that I mean detected by the anti bot script/what not.

 

I didn't realize it so much but have been watching 3 in US2 lately. Its very annoying. Every now and again, they pop up into chat complaining that people keep messing with them but as much as I farm npc, no player "farms" in the fashion that they do.

 

Sometimes i feel there isn't a bot system because its a while ago that they found botusers.

And there was a survey from BP where they asked how we think about bots and if Darkorbit should allow botusing. For me it is pretty strange. There are so much bots and you can't tell me that Bigpoint isn't able to catch them.

I ask myself all the time why they aren't able to catch them. A bot has always the same behavior. It is'nt that hard to find out their behavior. There are 3 or 4 bot types i know right now and you can't tell me that all bots work the same way.

Hello, there is a dedicated thread where users can voice their concerns on these issues. Forums>Users' Corner>Speakers' Corner. Bots and any third-party script will be detected by the scripts run by support, a process which is fair for everybody. From there any users who were detected shall receive the appropriate punishment. Shooting down the bots obviously disrupts their "patterns" and may be key in why the system does not detect their usual behavior. We Moderators/Admins assist the players in forums and within chat, the in-game element is left to Support and the Developers.

We do keep an eye and reply in the Bots&Cheats thread, but please remember it is helpful to read over some previous posts so there is no redundancy. As it states in that thread;

1. All Forums rules Apply
2. Do Not post accusations against another player in the game.
3. Do Not post perceived game cheat Names.
4. Do Not Post links or information on how to obtain said cheats.

Recently there have been names posted and we will not tolerate open accusations here or on chat. Whether they may be true or not it leads to flaming users which is not allowed.
