  1. Hi All,

    Have another question.

What is the green shield? How do I get one?

Playing capture the beacon I saw many a green shield used. In fact I had one on me, but I didn't put it there. It's not on one class of ship because I think I seen it on others. It works good too because I wasn't hurting them as much as they were me.

I had fun, and captured a beacon too and brought it home. The other 5 or more times I was killed trying, but I did help bring home the beacon once and I hope I save ours too before I died. There was another company ship there much higher than me.

    Hiya WarriorAngus,

Could you provide a screen shot or image of what you mean by green shield? Was this in 2D or 3D mode? Were you in an oufit with Aegis dropping a repair pod? or it could have been a Solace Ship using it's hp repair ability.

  3. Deter sounds like he is talking infection from infection mine. So he can buy the mines in the shop also can buy serum cpu from extras.

    Deter likes this.
  4. It is the Infection from the Gygerthral Event. There are Mines (IM-01) and Laser (PIB-100) ammo available to infect players with and the Anti-ZI/XL CPU's to cure them. These are currently sold in the Shop under ammo and extras respectively. People are using this as it increases the damage done but the downfall is the loss of speed. To read more about this look at the Event "Parasite Tide" FAQ from 2015.

    Ahhh!

Yes that may be what the Original Poster is describing.
As stated above you are able to get this buff/infection from Infection mines available in the shop,

Or from being fired upon by a user using PIB-Ammo,

The infection"booger" buff has 10% damage bonus (-)15%HP and (-)10% ship speed effect as described in the Parasite Tide Event faq'

Thank you all for assisting the user with their concern. We hope this answers your question.

  6. Hi All,

It looked like a green blob that was more a form fitting the ship. It went around his ship like a shield. The person put it around his ship just before we started to fight. I don't have a picture of it but Deter has a close one of something like it. It didn't look like it was damaging the ship like in his picture. It was a clear green blob that look more like it was apart of it. I didn't put it on his ship, but I was using PIB 100 Lasers and HST Missiles at the time. The shield was there before I even started to shoot the person. I saw other having it on their ships as I was passing by other players trying to get to the beacon. I never seen the person I was attacking get a green blob after the attack starts. Maybe I never lasted as long before.

As I said it is clear field, and it protects the ship. The shield has been on other classes of ship not just one type.

  7. The damage being seen is the player laying and hitting his mine. It is shown here as Deter is videoing the method and see the damage his ship takes from the mine. You will not see this with another player doing it to themselves. This is the only GREEN blob in the game and is not a shield but an infection. Many people like the additional damage this gives to their ship while killing NPC's where they do not need a real fast ship to escape their attack. If you shoot the PIB ammo at a player, just one shot will give them the infection/green blob.

If it is a short lasting thing where the ship is not taking any damage it might be the player using Insta Shield, but I do not remember it having a green hue to it.

  8. Thanks Help,

I just thought it must be a shield because I have seen it other times, when I'm not even involved. They just fly around with the blob on them.

  9. YES since the introduction of the infection in 2015, and people wanting to deal MAXIMUM damage they buy the mines whenever they can and infect themselves to gain the extra damage. IF they are worried about the negative speed of shields they use the formations that counter these effects depending on which one they need. Then others just like the green mist around them. LOL
