[GI] No more camping on ??? map

This was posted as a bug fix but I don't understand what it is.

 

I am not sure either. Maybe on PALLA map letting PET collect it, while you are AFK.

 

??? also known as Cubikon Graveyard with full of Uber Protegits and Cubikons with bonus boxes, fake Aurus and Bifenons that all contain 1000 UCB-100 laser ammo is an easter egg map, where people used to have hangars to get there when ever they wanted. It seems it is no longer possible, but I don't know how it is made. The result is nowadays you will be returned to x-1 when you stop playing actively there, no matter what.

There were some users that were able to exploit the "???" map and park there for extended periods of time. If these users were caught, Support would manually kick the players off that map until now.

Groups of people were able to get themselves into the map, and collectively farm Prots & Cubes, all without any interruption from other players.

 

It's things like this that I don't understand, Why are these players just getting kicked from the map? If DO knows they are abusing a bug or whatever you call it why don't they penalize them same as the botters. I mean i guess someone says the botters will be ban when DO makes the new server merges but this is unacceptable If they know players are exploiting the game or abusing bugs they should be penalized when they are caught not when everyone will be starting from the beginning again. Just my thought but I don't see why anyone wouldn't abuse the game as much as they can now cause in the past DO's penalties are quite useless. Someone that botted before and was caught got to keep all their equipment also upgrades and all they lost was xp and honor big deal while everyone else earns it by paying or playing gets cheated by DO saying if you do it we will punish you well just shows how much players care about DO's scare tactics i mean just check out how many botters there are. Yeah DO everyone is real scared.

 

Well, if you think about it, camping on the ??? map is not abusing a bug, or breaking any rules. It's just simply "gamebreaking" because they don't have to worry about the threat of other players. They can grow without worry. That's unfair, but DO has allowed it by allowing players to stay on the map. They just decided to change it now, so it's no biggie.

All the other times, players have found bugs, glitches or exploits, so they abused it. Farming the ??? map is none of those three.

I have been in, and I dont know what to say about this?
I worked through them navigating my ship around the outskirts of the map! It took me 4hrs 30mins...By no means did I wait around, I had to use stealth and be sure not to venture too far into the pack in the middle.
Unfortunately, I wasnt able to complete it because a small amount of them broke of from the main pack and destroyed my ship 3 mins before server restart.
I have been back since and I was destoyed in the centre of map and unable to move my ship through the uber prots slow down ability.
When I saw the message in forum I wasa bit disappointed and confused because I think that map is seriously, long, difficult and very annoying to get in!
Howver, now I viewed the video posted on this thread it looks like players were literally 'chilling' in that map.
The message I received from support about my personal experience in ??? map; they replied, "It would be unfair to other players to put me in to complete my last 5".
Okay fine...I agree...But now after viewing this...I'm really upset with the DO team.
I have wasted so much time trying to get in....It's a scandal...Sorry, but it is!!

I feel with as hard as a person has to work to get into that map they should be afforded a 30 second insta-shield as to prevent the immediate destruction when dropped in the middle of the map, or at least have a "safe landing zone" where you have time to realize you have entered into the map and can start defending yourself.

I do feel it is wrong that players could find a spot in the map and chill for any length of time, or even logout and not be kicked from the map to begin with. I feel anyone who was in the map with no activity for more than 10 minutes should be kicked from the map and have the rewards stripped from them for that visit. This is a SPECIAL MAP that not everyone gets to see and IF in the map at server reset (since this is not the same time everyday) and have seen 3 in a row (within 1 hour) that any person that was in this map at the server reset should be able to request a COURTESY return to the map for the next time they login (after Support responds to the ticket), again I did say those that lost the map because of server reset, not because they were "PARKED" in the map. We all deal with connection issues and this, even though unfair to those who finally got in, is just a fact of D O and is not a reason to request a COURTESY return (like a Galaxy Gate Reset), YES it is not your fault the connection failed but then it also may not be D O's fault either.

This, like so many other glitches in D O, get exploited by the few that are lucky enough to know about it and use it. The correct thing to do is to remove all gains from this particular glitch from everyone who obviously used it and maybe people will stop using these for improper gains in the game.

In your case where you are missing 5 UProts, they should have set the mission as completed instead of saying it was your tough luck.

Now with all the post in this thread, I get what was the problem. I think I got in the map once years ago and before I even knew what was going on was sent back to my home map by the uberprots. I have not been back since.

The video was very helpful, and makes me wonder if the map has gotten easier. I could be wrong.

Our apologies for the misunderstanding, "parking" was meant as users would find ways to leave their ships in that map on a certain ship/hangar/warp, while able to fly on a different ship in the normal maps. Log then activate the ship in the Cube map and log in.

There is nothing wrong with being able to sustain the damage taken in that map and have a few minutes of fun. That said there is nothing we can do about users getting kicked off the map after server restarts or due to connection issues. You get in? Cool! You don't? Better luck next time. This is a totally random map that has been in existence for the longest time, but with new quests and npc's arise new issues that we're not thought of in the past.
