[TI] G-Venom wrong bump maps

    Could you please elaborate a bit more on what issue you are experiencing?
     
  2. OP, check your Display/Graphic Settings.

    He's saying the bumps/wrinkles on the surface of the ship (design/looks) is wrong.
     
  3. Ok Mr. Deter, according to wikipedia a bump map or normal map is "... a technique used for faking the lighting of bumps and dents – an implementation of bump mapping. It is used to add details without using more polygons."

    So the normal map is a texture used in the venom 3d model to create depth without necessarily creating polygons, to simplify polygons are the amount of shapes a 3d model has; the more polygons the more computer resources are utilized to render the 3d model in real time.

    In this case, the normal map or bump map on the venom "...used for faking the lighting of bumps and dents" is not in fact being "...used for faking the lighting of bumps and dents" because as I will circle in red so you can notice yourself:

    Those dents and bumps I circled do not belong to the venom, they probably got the goliath normal map mixed with the venom ones by accident. So what I am asking is that if you could please get that checked with the respective dev dpt. Thank you.

    It was all on high except texture filtering (average) because high actually downgrades textures imo

    Have forwarded the issue to the developers. We hope to get feedback soon, however this does not mean there will be an immediate fix. We'll keep you posted should there be a Sync thought Official Announcements or Tech Announcements.
