[UI] Pet Attack Mode

    How about create a P.E.T. Gear called Attack Mode. Similar to Guard Mode except P.E.T. will attack and fire on locked on target at all times not just when you are receiving fire from locked target.
     
  2. Far as I know the PET does attack the locked Target as long as the Ship is being attacked. IT will attack whatever is attacking the Ship without a Lock though.

    Do you mean to fire on or to continuing to fire on a target even of your ship locks and fires on a new or different target?
     
  4. You can make your PET do that with the normal guard mode.

    It's how I solo'd cubes before I was strong enough to do it completely.

    I got into cloak > Chose x1 or SAB > PET on Guard Mode > Stayed out of rocket attack range on target (cube) > Hit spacebar to try to shoot rocket, but it doesn't fire, because I'm out of range

    When I move in range, my PET attacks the cube and it does not release any Prots. If I use x1, the Cube repairs the HP, but shield continues to go down. When its shield is completely gone, I start attacking, and kill it easily. It was fun to do late at night when no one was on xD

    But yea, basically stay out of range, shoot a rocket w/o actually shooting it, and your PET will attack your target, all without triggering them to attack you, like Bks, BBks, ubks, etc.

    Hiya,

    You can also make your pet fire at NPCs by putting it in guard mode and you fire a pld rocket at the NPCs. You don't take aggression and your pet does all the work. This easy with cubes and ubks but takes forever to destroy them.
     
  6. What we really need is that pathetic pet drop down box to be changed in to a bar like the other stuff.
     
  7. I really hate it when I forget to lock a new target when using Kami in GG and the PET chases off to the corner to kill the Red Lock instead of the mass around me. Dang it I just wasted my Kami, again.:mad:

    I guess to clarify my idea is this. Lock on a target, and with your PET in the new attack mode, It stays with target and fires until target is destroyed or you break lock. Matters not if target is firing back or not or you happen to move out of range.
     
  9. TO CLARIFY, as long as it is locked and you are taking any hits the PET will stick on that target, does not matter what is hitting you, unless the target exceeds the RADAR Range for the PET it continues attacking the LOCKED Target.

    IF the target exceeds the Radar range you have assigned then NO additional Protocols or Gears is going to change this, unless you add more Radar to the PET, the PET in Guard Mode will fire on any LOCKED Target till DEAD unless you do not take any damage, or you have exceeded the Range limit of the Radars already assigned to the PET, so in essence what you are requesting is a PET BOT so YOU can sit at a Portal and kill any Target you can LOCK with the PET and never leave the Portal, but then you have to hope the PET can kill it before the NPC migrates out of the Radar Range or the PET or you just wasted all of that ammo for nothing.

    IS this really the way you want to see people playing this Game?

    I made a change so you could see I specified YOU had to be able to lock the target. But this is still like having a BOT doing your killing for you. But that is fine add the extra stuff as desired this game is going to die soon anyway.

    To Clarify YET AGAIN: READ WHAT I SAID, 1. FIRE EVEN IF YOU DON'T TAKE HITS. 2. UNTIL DEAD OR LOCK ON TARGET IS BROKEN!
    3. I FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW IT CURRENTLY WORKS. 4. IN ESSENCE YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND MY REQUEST BECAUSE YOU SEE ONLY WHAT YOU WANT, NOT WHAT IS WRITTEN!
     
  11. You want to make the PET your LEGAL NPC BOT, I get it. I did get it in the response you quoted but then you failed to read that portion of the response. We have enough BOTS in the game I do not support adding LEGALIZED BOTS to the PET.

    Yet, this didn't changed anything you said before and using caps does not help us understand any better, as the reading speed will be decreased significantly.

    Except that he clarified that you need to lock the alien before P.E.T can attack it. Only bot mode if you have autolock.

    No you don't get it. I did not say auto lock. I did not say bot. I did not say anything about it working differently than it does now EXCEPT for the fact it would fire on the locked on target, just like before but would continue firing even if the target stopped. I never said you can lock pet and go somewhere else or sit in a portal. I did not say you can lock pet and send it off somewhere. I did not say that pet would stay locked and chase the target around alone. I expressed it quite simply and in English


    You are correct I didn't (change anything) no "d" required. I am stating the same thing I have said all along. With regards to reading I believe spelling is most likely to slow most people down. Also if you do much of any reading you will find small letters, italic letters, cursive, bold and even all caps quite often and in time you will become good at it.

    Ah, this is a perfect example of why the forums are mostly useless. An idea is presented, and the forum "know it all's" nit pick and shoot it down. If some of you played the game more than you post in the forum and pretended to know all about it the advice here might be useful (I'm talking to you letmehelpyou).

    Before you respond, consider this: we pay for our PET, we pay for its fuel, we try to use it to help in game but it is programmed to do stupid stuff like delay drop pick-up to fly in your line of fire, right? And it always goes for newest drop first rather than oldest so that your drop pickups are minimized.

    IMHO anything that might make the PET more useful to active players is worth consideration. And support.

    I like snuffout's idea. It should be considered. It isn't what was described in some responses that just want to be "superior" to the poster. It is a good idea.

    Yes, but using autolock will make it to work like a bot. You did not say anything like this, but unfortunately even if you were quiet, it won't prevent things to happen.

    There's no reason to use caps, there's no reason to use English, there's no reason to complain about anyone's' attempt to express themselves, there's no reason to attempt dialogue with a wall. Also AUTOLOCK has only been your term not mine. Furthermore as to what may or may not happen will not be seen or foretold by any mortal like yourself.

    Ok so why not make protocol versions of the gears to allow what you want static in play to what you want to activate and also boost the number of protocols the pet can carry.

    Also make the pet continue firing on it's target until it's destroyed or the pet is destroyed, allowing the pilot to direct their fire to a different target if the want or need should arise.
     
  18. I know what you mean By attack Mode... And it use to be like that when you added Evasive Maneuvers protocols to the pet that pet would go supper wild and move really fast when attacking enemy... Some players didn't like that so they took it off, you can still add the protocols, but they don't work like they use to. If they do work there is no visual effect like there use to be, so there is no guarantee that it works at all now
