  1. Removing two accounts on the same IP would cause a lot of problems to be fixed. Most notably pushing and going around chat bans with other accounts.

Of course, this means two separate people in the same household can no longer play, but that's what happens when people use things that aren't allowed: It ruins it for others.

I mean they could run a proxy server on the other computer so it's not determined as the same IP address but that can cause a lot of problems for your own internet connection so I don't really recommend it. And before you say it, no it won't stop this from being applied because proxy servers are run from the computer, not the browsers.

What do you guys think about banning two accounts at once on the same IP? (Please answer this question otherwise I'm not going to respond if you address something irrelevant).

DO sponsors IP whether Static or Dynamic .. that includes hacks for Email changers ... care to know what security DO has to employ in order to stop this behavior and secure accounts for the Wallet Exchange in DO ... Remember , this Company is world wide and answers to a higher power. [IMG]and [IMG] and their employed do and are held accountable and shall be held accountable ... If you or anyone has a problem take it to a Higher Power besides the above 2 mentioned ...

  4. This is not a good idea for the reasons noted by the OP. Some players also play in public places such as libraries and internet cafes and could have friends and family that play at the same places as well. Players should really avoid doing things that can cause an IP ban as they could ruin it for more than themselves.

  5. I have even heard (on ts3) where there are a group of players in the same room/area playing together these players were in the same clan and played together all the time, until D O became Bug Orbit and they started playing other MORE enjoyable games.

I could see having a block attached to the email creating the account be the operative for the account stoppage, IF 2 accounts with the same email address were on at the same time then they should be banned as they are either SHARED or PUSHING each other.

  6. Ah, you finally got to the point of the OP post. Yes, I'm glad you agree with me.

Why would it be desirable to prohibit people from having more than one ship on a single server? I think this would be like killing off all the patients in a hospital because you think some of them may be sick.

  8. You requested an IP Ban not an EMAIL comparison. As stated IP's could be people in one household sharing a P C or using the same Wi-Fi router and is not the same as I would agree with.

It is not the having more than one account on a particular server, but there are some that play both accounts at the same time and this is what is being talked about. Most players created a second or third account as they got bored flying in a FE/UFE ship and wanted to have fun in the game again (before the UFE/MCC decided they own the servers), but then there are the bad apples who allow others to play these accounts at the same time the owner is playing and this is where the issue comes in.

This is the worst idea I've ever seen. If DO wants to catch people pushing, they could run a script, or scan account logs of players under X level to look through their log and see if the same person has been shooting them down. Actually i am pretty sure they already do something like this. I don't think people push ship kills anymore, if they do, it doesn't seem to be a problem on the server that I play.

The chat thing. DO has already solved that by making noob accounts that are lower than level 7 I think, or maybe it's 8 or 9, unable to view Global chat. No Global chat = no problem. If somebody wants to harass you now on an alt account, they will need to take the time to level it up. In which case, you can simply report them by using the "/report" feature which from what I've noticed has a fairly quick response from the mods. Or you can go to their discord, or better yet you can simply ignore them, so then they have to level up another account just to harass you some more, then you just ignore them again, and again.

DO allows users to have multiple accounts, in fact I just confirmed this with support a couple weeks ago, as I am working on a new account, simply because it's fun. On top of that, people who have static IP's may have multiple people from the same household playing the game. For example, sometimes my brother plays Dark Orbit, does that mean his account or mine should be deleted?

If this is about people pushing, what really needs to be done is a script to catch all the new botters and autolockers.. it's becoming a problem again. On the plus side it brings more players to the servers, but these players are thieves who steal from the game, steal rank from hard working honest players who pay, or who have worked their butts off for years, just to lose it to someone who bots aliens 24/7, then uses the uri they get to do gates to rank up even more, then uses the ammo they get to send you war and fight you, then get your kill because they autolock you in the fight.

I just really hope DO gets rid of all the botters again. As for your idea, it makes no sense.
