  1. Hello

I haven't played the game in years and I have some questions about the fusion shield.

First, I randomly have a fusion shield III in my inventory but I can't see it in the shop.

    1. How do you get FS3s?
    2. If you have multiple fusion shields, does their regeneration bonus stack?
    3. If you have fusion shields plus the diamond formation of drones (which makes your shields regenerates 1% of your max shield power per second), does these stack? How do they work?
    4. Is it better to have full FS2 than BO2 if you combine them with the diamond form?

    Hiya CT-PYRO™[SID],

Welcome back to the game late night flyer ;)

    1) FS3's are available through the assembly queue
    2) The bonus is cumulative, which means that if you wear two FS-03 shields, the regeneration will increase by 2 * 6.25% = 12.5%
    3) Note the Shield differences due to shield generator bonuses, BO2's give 10k while FS3's give 8k
    a)12 BO2's on diamond formation
    BO2.gif

    b)12 FS3's on Diamond

    4) Take your pick and have fun :)

  3. Honestly this was very helpful to me as a new player. Thank you very much!

  4. Hi All,

Well you confuse me. FS3 are more for aliens I thought because it protects more from non laser weapons that aliens use. BO2 is more an over all shield mainly against PvP. Now on configuration 1 which is my alien side has both shields, and configuration 2 has all BO2 because of players. I am right or wrong?

Deter; your two pictures show two different maximum level of shield. The second is 54,000 points different than the top. Which has FS and which has BO shield. Or is it a mixture on both?

Top one is Bo2 and below one FS3.
Overall like deter says anything can go but if don't have many FS3 shields (like over 12) then use BO2 shields because they have more shield strength and are overall good in PvP and PvE (because of diamond formation). FS3 shields are good for hit and run ships (tartarus, venge, pusat) for it's incredible shield regeneration but it works good in PvE as well if you are circling aliens (in my opinion)

EDIT: You have to try what works for you but I would say go for all B02.

  6. Thanks for the reply.

Do you get the regeneration bonus while in diamond form while being attacked? Is it better to combine diamond form with BO2 or FS3 while being attacked?

I want to know this cause I am mainly going to PvE for a good while before I go into PvP again.

  7. Actually any shield except Fusion Shields 1, 2, and 3 have a default Shield Regeneration Rate of 4% per second which gives us a default of 25 seconds to regen all our shields starting from zero.

I also thought before that each Fusion Shield adds 6.25% Shield Regeneration Rate but actually they only add 0.25% per Fusion shield.

    Shield Regen Facts:

    1. Normal shield regen rate is 4% of total current shieldsper second.
    2. Each Fusion Shield 3 only adds 0.25% regen rate (it is 6.25% more of the 4% basic Shield regen, as 4*6.25% = 0.25%) to the basic 4% of total shields per second and not plain 6.25%.
    3. The Shield Regen Rate of shields equipped on your ships and drones adds up but the PET does not and only for itself.

Shield on ShipShield on DronesHave an Additional Shield Regen Boost?
    NoneNoneNo Shields :p
    NoneBo2No (Basic 4% only)
    NoneFS3Yes [4% + (0.25%*x numbers of FS-3 equipped on drones)]
    Bo2NoneNo (Basic 4% only)
    Bo2Bo2No (Basic 4% only)
    Bo2FS3Yes [4% + (0.25%*x numbers of FS-3 equipped on ship)]
    FS3NoneYes [4% + (0.25%*x numbers of FS-3 equipped on ship)]
    FS3Bo2Yes [4% + (0.25%*x numbers of FS-3 equipped on ship)]
    FS3FS3Yes [4% + (0.25%*x numbers of FS-3 equipped on ship and Drones)]
This shows a Shield Calculator of mine wherein I used Full Bo2 on all drones (20) and ships (15) slots.

Notice that at default 4% Shield Regen Rate your total Shield Regen Time from zero is at 25 sec and was reduced by using Shield Regen Boosters.

*I did not include the drone formations with shield regen bonus as I don't have them and I want to test it first hand before I included it on my calculator.

On the other hand, the next image will show a Shield Calculator of mine wherein I used Full FS3 on all drones (20) and ships (15) slots.

You noticed that the Total shield regen time was decreased this time from 25 sec to 8 sec and was further decreased by using Shield Regen boosters and the regen rate increased from 4% to 12.75% (since 35 slots * 0.25% = 8.75%).

The regeneration bonus is applied to the recovered shield strength per second after no damage for 5 seconds.

    Straight from the generators faq.
