[UI] Make the Daily Log In Bonus better.

  1. There have been many threads since the change to the Advent Calendar style of awarding the daily bonus. I am summarizing some of the responses and my thoughts about some of the items along with making a suggestion for a NEW layout plus inclusion of the reward of the LOYAL 365 day logger.

    No one is complaining about the value of the items we are getting, we all know it is worth much more than we used to get, we just miss some of what we used to get and some of the items people do not even want or need. Like come on how many UFE are happy about getting Scatter Lasers or Fusion Shields, or how about the occasional BO2 or LF3. YES these are all great for the PLAYERS who want/need them but IF they just sit in the INVENTORY wth good are they? Just so I do not have to look at them I have equipped the CREDIT SHIPS, that I do not fly with these SL and FS items and other ships that I have NO DESIRE to fly are getting the LF3's, I do have need for the BO2's but how about making them Level 5 or higher (heck if you buy them they are Level 5 from the PAYMENT). The PvP'ers love the RSB-75 ammo because they don't have to buy so much of it with their PURCHASED Uridium (400% for the price of normal), but people who PvE don't even bother with it as we have enough trouble just being able to kill them without being harassed by the MCC Hunters, but we can practice our combination volleys without costing us anything (if we ever thought we might be able to lock a moving target like a ship). How about adding more of the Nano Assembly items we don't get from Booty Chests, like the Micro-Transistors or Hybrid Processors, we are getting the new Oils and Chemicals, heck with the low drop rate they could even give us a bunch of the ORIGINAL Assembly Ores. Also as others have stated as we CAN NOT SKIP "CLAIM" on the Booster Bonus, those of us that log in to complete our Skylab Transfers, throw away the bonus for the day as they are REAL TIME instead of in-game (at least make them good for a 24 hour period, after collecting them but only good for the awarded hours of boost). We are getting more EE than we used to and get a few BK-1's but why not mix them up with the 6-7 total available Booty Keys (Purchase or Assembly ONLY is not a good way of doing these).

    What I really would like to see is, instead of MULTIPLES of the same item, have these be the last few days as a single award. Making a suggestion, might even have a "Surprise" day that has a combination of items;
    1. Days 1-7 we receive the A.S. Ores (weekends we get Boosters)
    2. Days 8-14 we receive Booty Keys and Nano Assembly Items and other A.S. items (Oils and such)
    3. Days 15-21 we get the BO2, LF3, FS, SL, LF4, Ammo, (weekends we get Boosters)
    4. Days 22-25 we get EE, Log Disks, ELF4
    The one item I did not address is the other days of the month, that are not rewarded NOW, these should be added and where items currently being awarded are not in the mix (too many items for the week #2 the Oils and such #3 equipment and ammo) could be given here or even the Ships/Designs or Formations could be given on these EXTRA days.

    For those who can post pictures and would like to actually post a calendar here I would be grateful for the posting. Others can weigh in on their thoughts of my suggested layout and additional bonuses.

    Well taking your points on DIFFERENT Calendars, I could see the need for 3 levels;
    1. under level 12, gets ammo BO2, LF3, FS, SL, EE, BK, Log Disks, Uridium, and all Assembly items Including ORES
    2. level 12 to 16 same as above but add UFE and designs and have FE equipment less apparent
    3. level 17 + remove the FE Equipment including the FS, and SL increase Assembly items
    This would take care of the portal sitter, allows people to work on becoming the next level stronger as we should all have the same advantages whether a p2p or a free player. The reason I made the breaks where I did is by level 12 (access to all maps) you should be FE on at least one ship (Vengeance or Goliath), the next level needs help with their assigned missions and getting some of the UFE Equipment would be advantageous to these players, and the final level you are perfecting your PvP skills and need only the best items from here on out.

    Help you are right. The old Log In wasn’t as fancy as the Daily Log In Bonus, but it gave more the longer you logged in. We do get some nice items and items that are useable too. There are others liked boots could be better. It would be nice if DO made it a time on line instead of straight time. I have two servers and one I play the other sits there. I log on to both each day to transfer my Sep. Then I play one in which I allow myself playing time. The other one sits there. I am trying to get experience points so my P.E.T. can move up a level. DO have raised P.E.T. levels up and I’m still trying to make the first new level.

    As a UFE I have a stock pile of extra LF3, Fusion Shield, and BO2 so I don’t get over excited when they are the daily bonus. I have 4 ships equipment and could equip more, but why. I only fly one of them and the second one when I want to have more rockets firing.

    You have so much to offer and you repeat it over and over again in one month. I would like to see Hercules and Havoc in the list too. I didn’t fine them much, and now I don’t have the keys to find any of them. The only keys I have are green.

    DO think outside the box. Put in more items you would really like. Put it in once so that you could give a greater variety of items. I’m told you are players too, think like a player. Items you are putting on the Daily Log In Bonus is virtual item, and it isn’t costing you anything for putting them there.

    I have read all over the Forum about people abandon the game for one reason or another. Make the Daily Log in more exciting. We need every good player.

    Hi there!

    First of all I agree with the value of the contents of the advent calender. In fact, I feel like we might be getting too much out of it (on specified days that is). On one hand, the LF3, fusion shields and B02 (since they are not upgraded) are quite useless for UFE players but on the other hand the LF4 and the Enhance LF4 are really good rewards, especially for new players.

    Think about it, after one year of just logging in about every day (so without even playing the game at all!!!) you can get 24 LF4 of which 12 Enhanced!

    As you can see, there is a clear imbalance, on one hand most of the items aren't useful for UFE but almost all of the items are amazing for beginners or FE. Now I'm not saying that is is a bad thing to help beginners but providing them with bonuses which reduce the need to play the game does not sound like a very good idea to me. I am honestly surprised that Bigpoint created this calender.


    Possible solution
    I feel like two thing are required to solve the problems mentioned above.

    Two calenders
    One for beginners / FE and one for UFE. This way, we can create two separate calenders which both have something to offer to their target group. New players will gain items that encourage them to play (LF3, B02) and become stronger and once they do and gain UFE status they gain other items to help them out (LF4, RSB). This will also prevent new players from gaining UFE status without playing.

    Playtime rewards
    Instead of granting super rare items (enhanced LF4's) for just logging in, items like these should be given out based on your playtime. This could be on a day, a week or a month. This way, you will actually be rewarded for playing instead of logging in. Now there should be some restrictions here so that you can't just sit AFK on a map and collect all the rewards. You can kind of compare this with weekly or monthly missions but with better rewards. Personally, I absolutely do not understand why they haven't introduced this mechanism instead of the advent calender. I highly doubt the purpose of it was to get people to log in; it was to get people to play the game.

  5. I love this idea! I have been frustrated as well, because the only reason I use the calendar is for the booty key, schism, assembly parts, Laser ammo, and LF-4s. This would solve the pointlessness of the calendar for most level 17+. The only suggestion I have to make is to include some Scrap in the calendar. It is really hard to get, unless you have a huge group. I popped uber saimons and mordons in 4-5 for 3 hours, and got 13 scrap!

    You can't make the system level based. Level does take time, but at the same time, you could always just buy everything at lvl 0 and receive useless rewards. It should be totally equipment based.
    Here's how I would set this up

    Requirements for bonus items
    - First set a number of hours to play. This must be reached in order to get the reward
    - The hours played is not the same as the total hours played. The hours played is timed by how many hours you are in a certain section.
    - Also set a number of NPCs to be destroyed. This can be done at any time, but also must be reached before getting the reward.
    Bonus Item Info
    - Rewards are listed below in the order they should be received
    - Rewards are meant to be combined as well
    - I was thinking something along the lines of, using the first step as an example, Giving x3, then x3 + 2021s, then x3 + 2021s + uri, then giving uri + LF-3
    - The amount of hours to be played and NPCs to be destroyed should not be made available for the player to know. When the player reaches the point where they get the reward, it should be a surprise.


    Requirements for bonus items
    - First set a number of hours to play. This must be reached in order to get the reward
    - Also set a number of NPCs to be destroyed. This can be done at any time, but also must be reached before getting the reward.
    First starting:
    Bo2, LF-2, 1000 prom scattered throughout a month mixed in with 5 oil, booty keys, small drops of uri, lower based ammo (x2, x3, sab, 2021s, 2026s) and 7900 speed gens

    Bonus rewards would consist of higher amounts of stronger ammo (x3, 2021s), uri and LF-3s.
    The longer you play and the more you destroy, the higher the rewards would be.

    After a month, you get 2 LF-3

    After a set up equipment is reached (enough LF-3, bo2 and 7900 speed gens to fill a Nostromo no drones), the next phase:
    B02, LF-3, 7900s, 1000 prom, 5 oil, booty keys, larger drops of uri, higher based ammo (x3, 2021s), spins and assembly materials (materials meaning those dropped from NPCs and booty boxes) scattered throughout the month

    Bonus rewards would consist of higher drops of x3, 2021s, uri, spins and LF-3

    After a month, an LF-4 is given

    After getting enough equipment to fill a goliath with 8 Iris:

    Continued drops of b02, LF-3, 7900s, 1000 prom, 10 oil, booty keys, uri, assembly matierials
    New drops of x4, 3030s, an obsidian key, an apocalypse key and 200 sep

    Bonus rewards: Increased x4, 2021s, 3030s, spins, uri and LF-4

    After a month, 2 LF-4 are given

    After getting 15 LF-4:
    Drops - 1000 prom, 500 sep, 10 oil, uri, x4 ammo, 2021s, 3030s, spins, assembly materials, booty/special keys

    Bonus rewards - Larger amounts of sep (1000-3000), spins, uri, x4, RSB ammo, LF-4

    After a month - 1 special LF-4 is given of the players choice (Hyper, Magma, Parity)

    After 35 LF-4:
    Drops - 500 sep, 10 oil, uri, x4, rsb, 3030s, spins, booty/special keys, assembly materials, schism crystals

    Bonus rewards - spins, uri, x4, RSB, LF-4

    After a month - 1 special LF-4 is given of the players choice (Hyper, Magma, Parity)

    After 10 Drones:
    Drops - 1000 sep, 15 oil, uri, rsb, spins, special keys, assembly materials, schism crystals

    Bonus rewards - uri, spins, schism crystals, LF-4, RSB, special LF-4

    After a month - 1 special LF-4, schism crystals

    After 10 special LF-4:
    Drops - 1000 Sep, RSB, x4, uri, spins, 20 oil, schism crystals, assembly materials, special keys

    Bonus rewards - uri, spins, schism crystals, x4, RSB, special LF-4

    After a month - 1 special LF-4, schism crystals

    After all previous points are reached - 20+ special LF-4:
    Drops - 1000 sep, RSB, x4, uri, spins, 25 oil, schism crystals, assembly materials, special keys

    Bonus rewards - uri, spins, x4, RSB

    After a month - 1 special LF-4 of the player's choice


    A situation may occur where players reach one point such as 10 drones before another like 35 LF-4. In this situation, the player would skip the 35 LF-4 requirement and jump straight to the 10 drones section and continue from there. The bonus rewards for each section would still be in place. If you skip a section, you would receive the bonus rewards from the skipped section before that of the section you are currently in.

  11. Yes If you saw the first response pointed out that the New players do not really need all of the bells and whistles whereas the UFE don't want the FE equipment. The Levels were designed to benefit the players the most and allow everyone to be able to enjoy the bonuses they are receiving, unlike the current one where the UFE are offended that a player can, after a year of playing potentially be as strong as they are just by logging in every day and every month. But then you have progression rewards which are time and game play instead of login bonuses, which I do not have a problem with but again they are not a DAILY BONUS.
