[GI] Drones

Hello.
Im new to game and could use some help with drones. What do they actually do ??
I put lasers on,but they dont shoot anything. The only thing that does shoot is the pet.
Just what are the drone doing,and what are the slots for ??
Do they increase my ships abilities without doing anything visible ??
Any advice would be appreciated.

Drones are a very useful tool for increasing the amount of lasers and shields you can use, as well as providing extra damage and shield health.

A good place to get started with everything drones has to offer is the Drone FAQ. This will help you get a broader idea of everything you can do with drones.

Here are some basics to get you going:

Drones have slots. You can put items like lasers or shields into these slots.

Flax Drones are the cheapest drones to buy, and are great for starting out with. They have 1 slot for you to use to put items into.
Iris Drones are the premium drones you can buy using Uridium, and give you 2 slots to equip items onto.

Apis and Zeus Drones are special drones you can buy (at a high uridium cost), or build in the Tech Center. Both of them have 2 slots to equip items onto.

In game, you will see your drones spread around your ship in what are called Formations. These formations give you extra buffs/debuffs depending on the formation. Above your ship you will see letters like I F A Z. They indicate your drone types. (ie - IIIIIIIIAZ means 8 Iris drones, 1 Apis, and 1 Zeus).

The maximum number of drones you can have is 10 (8 Flax or Iris, 1 Apis, 1 Zeus).

You can upgrade your drones to give more laser damage / shield power (depending on the item equipped).

There is no visual effect of the drones shooting but they do.
