How do the heat slots work please?

They hold lasers, any lasers.

As you use the pet it gains heat points. The more points it gains it goes up in heat levels. There are 5 levels, each gives additional benefits (but i can't remember what they are).

You can fill the slots whenever you want, even if you haven't reached the level, they all activate once you have the right level, I think.

But, be warned, if you stop using the P.E.T, the points go down and you lose the heat levels. That means, of course, you have to start again once you start using the pet again.

Heat Level Slots
With this update, a new Heat section has been added to the P.E.T. tab in the Hangar. Here you can find new Heat Level Slots that you can use to equip lasers and shields. BUT: the Heat Level Slots are only active, when your P.E.T. reached a certain Heat Level.

But nevertheless, you can already equip the slots if the P.E.T. has not reached the correct Heat Level. However, the equipment and its bonuses won’t be counted until the P.E.T. has reached the appropriate Heat Level.

I finally found my way back to my ship, that I started back in 2008. I don't know what made me look this game up after being away for so long but last week I did. I just wanted to see if the game was still around, and I'm surprised it is. I logged in with a new account just to see what all has changed and it looks like a good deal has, but a lot is very familiar as well.

It took me a while to remember my old log in info, but when I did I was shocked to see my old ship and all my gear still here, waiting for me. So here I am. Over a decade has passed and I guess I'll play around a bit and try to learn all this new stuff. Looks like some fun toys to play with.

Anyone care to give me any tips for navigating this new, yet familiar, battle field?

There is something about this that does not make any sense at all.

I understand it that if my pet link is activated then my pet will take the damage instead of my ship right?

So why is it that if my ship takes a 100k hit, then my pets hp only goes down by 5k and not 100k?

Am i missing something here or is this pet link bugged?

Surely this pet link was not designed to make people invincible but instead just give them more time in a fight right?

If im hitting someones ship for 100k every second, then their pet should be taking 100k damage to its hp per second. Why is it only taking 5k hits and not 100k hits?

 

can you explain why it would be better? I have a Veteran Goliath with full LF3/10k shield/top generators/lvl 6 iris, all the bells and whistles, that I spent a long time getting. How is it better to ditch that and start over?

 

now even LF-4s are considered weak
beginners are given an offer with a doubling of the reward for all quests for 72 hours (appears from 6 to 8 levels), with its help we quickly recruit 17 lvl and complete 10 quests to get the 10 most powerful lasers (when doubling we get 20)
shields and engines at auction are very easy to get, ships too

 

Pet link is extremely bugged, people were even abusing a bug that made it take 0 damage, and have no CD. It should just be removed from the game at this point for the amount of problems it has.

Don't know if PVE server is different than regular in terms of daily log in calendar, but sure think some different stuff could be offered.

No weapons this month. For starting over on PVE, at least legit players, weapons would be nice.
