[GI] Hanger issues

So server update, nice new graphics in hanger, however it is now treating my ship designs as "new" ships so i have to unload all my gear from one ship to another instead of it automatically showing across as its just a "design", whats the problem DO? WHY CHANGE THINGS FOR THE WORSE?

 

You do not need to take off all your equipment if you are moving to another ship of the same class, you need only use the System transfer button. To use the Transfer system you must first open the equipment page (use the manage button) of your activated ship, click on the system transfer button and a drop down list will appear with all the ships that you can transfer your equipment to, select the ship you want and click on transfer this will move your equipment and configs to your selected ship, you just need to activate the ship you moved your equipment to. Please note that will not work with the Pusat or Surgeon because of the extra slot but the dev team are working on a patch for this.

 

How about transferring equipment from Cidatel to Aegis or from Aegis to Goliath? Will that be fixed as well?

 

There is nothing to fix it's as the old system when moving from a goli to citadel or aegis you need to take your equipment off to put on a different class of ship.

 

What's the point of the equipment transfer system then?

Help me figure out what you mean by that. Simply because, sure some ships are roughly as powerful as others, however they all have different amounts of slots and overall capabilities. Therefore if the new system - "equipment transfer system" would just work for transferring equipment from one design of a ship to another, then the last system was so much better as people could just go back to a base and change their ship design.

So again, what's the point of having the new system if its not going to transfer equipment from one ship to any other?

 

You are right if we were not getting NEW Cosmetic Designs the Old system was and is a bunch faster when changing a design on a Goliath or Vengeance Ship, but limits us to what we can customize also.

This is a stepping stone to FUTURE additions to the game, including the Expo 16 designs and coming Championship Flag Designs, and regrettably the Equipment in Client Update they are still trying to rectify issues we had with it.

They are also looking into something of a "Saved Configuration" that might be a solution for the inter-class transfers of equipment where it will be possible to delete one ships configurations and automatically load the new ships "Saved" config. Yes the first time you load the ship, it will take time but after saving it, it would be a one button re-load, which would be a major improvement over anything we have had in the Old Hangar.

 

Can you not still go back to base or logoff and transfer or change design?

So as yet nothing has changed so far except the manipulation/Transfer which takes about 3 seconds

 

Everything still works as in the Old hangar system except we can not select a design from a drop down menu on an equipped ship and change the design without transferring the equipment since the designs are now either Ships or Skins and most people are changing designs/Ships not Cosmetics.

Again it is a change we have to get used to and has a bright future, once all the bugs/glitches are removed and a dew additions are made.

 

Not entirely true as there could have been an additional option to change the appearance of that design. They did not have to make a new system.

Again, I personally don't think that was the best way to go and it's pointless for users like me so I guess my opinion on this is kind of irrelevant.

Now this is something I am interested in and it would be very helpful. Looking forward to the day it becomes implemented.

 

hope they get this 'PATCH' sorted soon... I managed to get Surgeon after 2 1/2 weeks of killing npcs & collecting.. but too scared to use at mo as got to move everything to inventory first. With all the bugs and disappearing items I really don't want to lose anything I spent months and months upgrading ...

 

The people who lost items lost them at the switch over and is a glitch that is being worked on or been fixed. Most of the equipment that got lost was assigned to duplicate Basic Ships and as they are no longer available we (the player) are unable to get the system to see them, however it is my understanding the equipment is now available for equipping but there are still some ships that have not been returned. You want to use the Surgeon go ahead and "Delete" your ship configs that you are going to use and then re-equip it on the Surgeon and enjoy the ship.
