  1. Can anyone direct me to a page that gives some advice about pet tactics, such as what gear you should have active for pvp and pve, when you should switch gears etc? Also what are the best protocols to have on your pet for each pet gear.

There are alot of pages for ship advice, but much less for pets even although there seems to be a large number of pet functions available. It would be really useful if someone could layout the basics and or even some of the advanced stuff!

    Thanks :)

Before you think of setting your P.E.T up for combat you will need to get it to level 8 first in order to use lever 3 protocols and gear. For a P.E.T from level 1-7 you will only need 2 - 3 gears ( Level 1 Auto looter, Level 1 Auto resources collector and Level 1 P.E.T repairer).

While your P.E.T is leveling up do not be tempted to buy level 2 protocols and gear as you will be wasting valuable Uri.
When you use your P.E.T you will burn fuel and the more protocols and gears you have equipped and the higher the P.E.T level the more fuel you will burn and it is best if you only equip your P.E.T for the job you are doing. For boxing you will need auto looter on both configs.

Once your P.E.T gets to level 8 you must decide how you best want to use your P.E.T if you are going to be doing a lot of GG's you will need premium and kami gear minimum HP on your P.E.T no shields on your pet and laser slots filled with Lf3's or LF4's.

  3. While building my P.E.T, I decided to build it with a multi-purpose type setup. I lean more towards the PVP aspect of the game so having some of those protocols help a good deal.

This is my personal setup. Other players have their own ideas.

    Pet level 15.. 10 X LF4(upgraded lvl 16) ..17 X BO2.. Hit Points 197.6K..
    Shields 185.6K
    Pet Gear...all level 3..
Auto looter, Enemy locator, Rep, Cargo trader +30%, Kamakazi 75K, Combo ship repair, Auto Resource Collector
Pet Protocols all level 3 ..
Precision targeting +4%, Evasion +3%, Hitpoint +4%, Laser damage +4%, Alien damage +6%, Radar-x3, Bonus Box salvage +3%, Shield +4%
This of course took time to acquire, so begin with your immediate needs, looter and a radar. Build from there. To me, the idea of having a P.E.T is to help you acquire bonus boxes & cargo while you kill aliens.

As USS Aries mentioned, don't waist uridium on any level 2 gears or protocols.

A few links for you to peruse threw. There are some other links on the PET FAQ page as well.

Also note protocols can be stacked giving added performance. For instance you see I have 3 Radar protocols, this gives my PET a greater ability to locate boxes, cargo's, aliens at a much further distance from my ship.

    Enjoy the game :D

    Hello †ÐΛRK†[ICF]™,

Thank you both for assisting the user with their concern. We hope the feedback were helpful.

Is there anything further from the Original Poster or may we close?

  5. I would like to add one bit of advice. I find that using a PET with stacked radar protocols and bonus box doubler advantage pack yields a considerable amt. of Uri. and extra energy. Keep your PET on auto looter while you farm for BK's and let it do the collecting . Stack 3 radar protocols LVL 3 and concentrate on killing aliens . Switch to guard mode only when attacking high value targets like BBK's or greater.
I have had a great deal of success with this and I highly recommend it .
