[GI] How Do I Change My 3-7 Year Old Account Email Address?

How do I change the a really old (the original) email address for my darkorbit account? Although I don't think I will get banned (I am a legit player) I could someday forget my password and not be able to recover my account (due to the fact that the original email address is no longer working/I can't access it).

To change my account email address I have to access my old email address which I haven't in years and so I have no idea what to do.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

 

That's a wide variance in age lol. First off if you forgot your old email password we not support can help that's something you'll have to talk about with your email provider. Second, considering you've forgotten your email I'm guessing you haven't accessed your account in a while? Or have you just been using the account but not the email it's tied to? Cuz if you haven't accessed your darkorbit account in 3+ years then its probably wiped. But if you just need to change your base email, do forgot password, and if you setup your phone or alt email or personal questions to reset password, you're fine, otherwise you'll have to contact your email provider's support to try and get it back.

 

Ha, you are right, I just wrote 3 to 7 years because I honestly couldn't pin point when I started to play Darkorbit (though I think it tells you somewhere in your pilot profile page). Anyways, is not a matter of me forgetting my email password. The email provider some years ago simply deleted my email account and so I had no choice but to stop using it altogether. It was not a matter of me forgetting the password. I have being using my Darkorbit account but not the email it's tied to (as I mentioned, one day out of the blue a few years back the email provider simply deleted my email acount).

Secondly and I am ideally looking for a mod/support to answer this question: how could I go about changing the email tied to this account? I log on from a consistent IP address, I also make game purchases using the same debit/credit card info I have always used (though I might have updated payment method I believe 2 months ago due to old credit card expiration). In any case, How could I change my email?

 

Dude this isn't something we can help you with , really. You can have all the information you want but if you don't own the email ad dress you're mostly screwed. I had my account hacked recently, I have the original email, registration email, payment Emil, pictures, videos, and I still didn't get my account back. If they deleted your email the likely situation is you are never going to be able to change your email address. Just be glad you still have your account..

 

Yeah, I think the General issues sub wasn't the right forum to post this (as you said, the players can't really do anything and have no power or knowledge to help with this technical issue). I think I will just ask for this thread to be close so I can make a proper inquiry in the right forum.
