[GI] Is there a way to turn off the animated background stars on 2D?

    Hello

    As the title says, I'm looking for a way to turn off the animated stars (white dots) in 2D mode so I can have a black (#000000) background.

    I have everything set on low/off except for the ships because ships are not really resource demanding as animations are.

    To give you a little bit of context, I'm waiting for my PC to arrive to my safe house #2 which will take another week or so and am currently stuck on a really bad laptop (1.3GHz dual core, 2GB RAM, integrated graphics) and am trying to make DO run as good as it goes on this hardware. (Pallying is still possible even with ~10fps, trust me :))

    So if anyone knows how to turn the animated stars off, I will be really thankful if they could share that information.

    Hello Planearium,

    The stars will always be there even after low settings have been set. Is there any other question/concern or may we close?

    You can close, thank you.

    However I will say that in 3D the stars seem to be static in some maps while most of the maps don't show any stars, which is a performance booster :D
