I would like to know if there is a moderator out there who can answer this question? Why
does my Goliath Saturn hit harder than my Memesis, yes i understand the Memesis has one less
Laser slot, but my memesis is UFE(full LF4's), My Goliath Saturn is not UFE it has a mixture of
(ULF4's, Lf4's and Lf3's) My saturn shouldn't be hitting now where near what my Memesis is
hitting with lasers. I would also like to know why my post on the main logbook page problem
was never looked at by a moderator or answered?

  2. It will be hard to say with certainty given that we do not know your exact configurations on both ships, but from what you've given us I think it's safe to say the higher damage shots you see using your Saturn are due to the U-LF4s you have equipped on it - remember, they have a base damage of 220 (10% higher than a regular LF4), although they have a higher variance (42% - meaning they could go as low as 128, whereas a regular LF4 has a variance of 25%). I believe you simply notice the higher than normal hits, but don't pay much attention to the low ones. As an example of how much they actually influence your damage let me give you this: before I got all the regular LF4s to fully fill my ship I also used a few U-LF4s, as well as maybe 3-4 LF3s. Now I remember one time I was shocked to see I hit 142k with a single volley of RSB with that setup, but now that my ship is completely full with regular LF4s I barely ever exceed 130k, although the total damage dealt either way would be roughly the same, due to the lasers' different damage variance

Well not really The ULF4 are worse since you can luck out and get a stronger RSB and a weaker X4 shot and get more dmg or get the oposite and loose isntantly while the normal LF4s you know what is your minimum dmg and you know how to respond whilel with the UFL-4
in one situation you might win if you get 2 RSB crits in a row but the chanse of that happening is 33% 33% 1 rsb crit 1 not and 33% 2 USB-100 crits so in 66% you loose while with the normal lf4 its 100% win or 100% loose it would be better if the normal LF-4 had a lower RNG but yes the ULF4 is probabbly what does you in and you didn't say about upgrades are they all upgradet are they not:D

  5. I agree on the RNG factor, hence why I've replaced all of my unstables with regular ones; though I've never classified one as being better than the other - all I'm saying is that given a long enough period of usage both should deal roughly the same total amount of damage (assuming the 42% variance on the unstables is completely unaffected by other factors - some say it has a higher chance of being in the upper range, we can't honestly know because we've been given no info on it by mods/devs)

  6. Another item to add, if you are firing Rockets, these can be added to the laser shots seen and could be causing some of the damage discrepancies. Also, LAG plays a little in the calculations too, I have actually turned the information OFF as I experience too much LAG from other issues I can not control and D O seems unable to correct.

    Hello souleater1,

As stated above there are numerous factors that contribute to the way damage is calculated. If you truly believe you are dealing less damage than you should be then we ask if you could reply back with your UserID/Server. There may be some differences but every damage complaint turns out to be they are hitting normal values. You may not always see the high hits, but they are there.
