Just got this In Game mail and I'm not sure if it's real or fake. It's from player Northstar-50 and the email says...

Registering in the draw you can get:

I did edit my first post to remove the link in case it is fake other players would not get caught up in the issue. I will share the link with an Admin if I need to or they can look at my In Game emails from other players to see it. Looks like from the mail I received it was only sent to 5 players. Surely an Admin can verify if this is a real or fake email trying to steal accounts or something sinister.

I too received this under my ship's name.
I saw NS-50 in flight 1 day and later received a friend invite.
I looked at the Link ( o-o ) and it takes you to DO's portal.
I looked at NS-50 profile and he/she is a player

Yes, I just looked and in fact I did receive a friend request from the guy who sent me the message Northstar-50 a dew days ago. I also brought up the link in a completely different browser and it does look like the DO portal but mine has a couple of small differences. But that could be because its a different browser but not sure.

 

I think we require response from Admin.

The English used is strange:
" Thanks that you stay with us! We want to make prize draw! "

I was going to reply to the email but not sure if good idea.
Also wonder if it should be deleted from our e mails ??

 

I thought the same thing about the English used. I'm not going to delete it from my email till I get a reply from and Admin in case they want to look at it to see the other players the email was sent to because they might be affected if this is not legit.

dont open that link, its a scam, report that and report the player who send you that url

 

If this is fake and someone stole my account they would be disappointed in what they got, I'm level 19 but I really just play for fun and kill aliens, I'm not even in a Clan. lol

That's another thread on this same scam/phishing in-game mail which a moderator responded to. This sort of thing is nothing new, the only thing that changes is the text the scammers use.

 

So what is the benefit of this scam/phishing? He is already 4 levels ahead of me in game and he cant transfer my uri or anything from my account to his.

 

I think they try to get access to people's card #'s, that are dumb enough to use credit cards to buy their $kill

Also Kyro, you should remove that url so others can NOT click on it?

 

I also got the same message. I'm probably going to just block him.
