    If I have more than one ship and buy a pet, can I use it with any ship or do I have to assign it to a specific ship?

    I'm guessing you mean more than one ship as in multiple ships in the hanger system? Yes, if you buy a pet then it is automatically assigned to every ship you own in the hanger - same goes for drones. You will need to swap equipment between each pet though or use the transfer system if its available for the ship you want to swap equipment to.
