[GI] Question regarding Pvping

Greetings fellow Dark Orbiters. I only just started my Dark Orbit account last night, and already I have a problem. I've progressed quite considerably from missions in the MMO sector of 1-1 to 1-4, and not 5 minutes ago I was continually stalked and spam killed by a cloaked ship. I, in my crummy Goliath, could do absolutely nothing to stop him. He was faster, far stronger and had many drones. I was powerless with my 7 lasers, mediocre shielding, and terrible speed of 337. He was at least 1.5x faster than I was, and had way too much firepower. I couldn't even run away. I got the amazing 2 weeks premium status reward from a mission, so I was respawning as the same gate trying to finish off 3 or 4 missions I had to do in 1-4. Each time I respawned, within 20 seconds he was decloaking and destroying me. I requested aid from the MMO chat, but received no assistance. And, after deciding to vent my understandable rage in chat, I received a chat ban for idk how lengthly of a time period. I recognize that using full caps is probably not the best thing to do at any given time, but I was very upset.

And now, down to business. I want to know if the person responsible for repeatedly killing me over and over again, helpless as I was, constitutes as harassment and if so, can he receive some form of a penalty? I would like to be able to play the way I want to, without getting hounded by the same player over and over again. Please reply :'(

EDIT: Also, I would care to know how long of a chat ban I have incurred, thanks.
EDIT: On a side note, I was killed nearly 15 times in quick succession.

 

Contact support to find out how long the chat ban is. Also, you may relog in and see if you can chat. If so, you actually got kicked and not banned.

Now, I will start by saying welcome to the game, and realize it is a pvp game. I am sure you knew that though. Was the attacker from an enemy, EIC or VRU, company? Depending on the time, it can be hard to get help, and unfortunately since you are new, other company members probably just shrugged off your plee.

What you did as a new player is very common and usually makes the attacker feel Top Dog. Another way to deal with it, and I have done it on all but two of the servers I play on due to language barriers, is to just acknowledge to the attacker that they got you, with tact. Then asked if you can maybe continue your missions in peace. A lot of times they will just move on. Of course there are other enemies that may take their place but at least that one will be out of your hair for a while.

But I would like to throw in the guy who killed could get punished and did in some nature. You can only be killed so many times before it stops giving him credit(ep& honor) Also so may in that quick of a time frame cold trip the pushing script and get him ban for a few days. Im sure it takes more then 15 but i have seen t happen.

 

Got a chuckle abt the chat ban part, been there, done that lolz.

When I........ !!YELL IN CHAT!!....... then get told "no caps please".....I say ..."But I want everyone to know I'm yelling, how am I supposed to do that without caps??" hee hee hee !

PSK is right tho, good advice, stroke the Uber Noober ship's ego, and maybe they go away, if that doesn't work then just make fun of them for even hunting in the lowers to begin with...(UFE's know better, there is no challenge in it, and it just demoralizes new players like yourself), and in chat you can make them look like a bully and a noob themselves for even hunting there !!

As pointed out by PSKSUDANCE, you will need to contact support if the ban was not a short system/mod ban.

get rid of that goli and buy yourself a leo it will hit 2x harder 2011s hit 10k, 1x hits as hard as 2x
build up your equipment first then get a goli or a vengi.

I agree with the ship change for now.

The Leonov will give you some advantage on the home lower maps. hitting harder better shield power.. requires less speed gens to achieve a fast speed. It is a better ship to work your way up to vengy then goli.

Also, this player that has been repeatedly killing you is somewhat borderline "pushing"

Pushing is when a player kills the same ship too many times... it is against the T&C.

It is unfortunate that this happens in the game.

It's a good game once you plow your way threw a few things. Stick to it, don't let a bully chase you away
