    How does rank points work? not very well is my guess.

    so far this week i have earned over 100mil EP from various quests etc, i was 20k off next rank at the start of the week and expected to make it by the weekend, i checked this morning and i am still 10k off the rank and my points since the start of the week have gone DOWN by 1k?
    how does this happen,? earn 100mil EP and lose 1K in ranking points!!

    If you mean badge rank then honor is the most influential statistic. EP is good for top user rank points but it's honor that will give more rank points towards your badge rank than anything.

    mm the amount i have earned this week should have made my RP go up not down

    Maybe you were in a different ship? Try changing to goli or citadel and check again.

    Rank points are not affected by experience almost at all. You get 1 point for every 100k exp so 100m exp only gives you 1000 rank points. Honor is the most important thing, 100k honor gives you 1000 rank points. 1 goliath kill will give you 60 points (100 golis = 6k!) so the best way to gain ranks is by shooting enemies or doing gates for honor.

    Only thing that can explain your rankpoints going down is that you have different ship or you have lost honor or shot friendly ships. If you change from Goliath to Vengeance for example you will lose 2k points since Goliath gives 10k points and Vengeance 8k.

    As stated above check to ensure you haven't gotten any friendly kills (Both Ship/Pet) as they can heavily affect your honor.

    Yes, it is a joke. The quests give out practically nothing in terms of honor which goes to RP which you mention. The honor you get are from the kills (NPC/ships) in the quest. You didn't mention how much honor you got so, you just earned EP.

    Honor plays the biggest role in rank points.
    Exp give almost nothing.
    The quest system should change to give more honor once again.

    Always fly a goli except when in 5-2 as my citadel is parked there, no friendly kills, its just a joke system, please close as got the answer i asked for, many thanks all
