[GI] Surgeon

Hi I have a Surgeon and am concerned as to the speed of the ship. The maximum speed I read is 460. When chasing an enforcer etc of a maximum speed of 440 I am running at the same speed even on a long run.
I cannot catch or overtake.
Question:- Does this occur on home gates and or against the same company or enemy of the same company?
I have speed Gens in the 16 slots.

 

You probably don't have promerium on your gens.

 

No that is not it I do have Promerium on the gens. Its a Mystery.

Max speed on the Enforcer is 540, Surgeon 552. Difference in speed is less than 3%, so you won't see it unless long run across the maps, and even then it's not a huge gap between you.

Some Drone formations also reduce/increase your speed.

Actually I also experienced that before that even with promerium boost on speed generator it does not have any effects but that was just because the mins left for the promerium boost is bugged and that even though its displaying "x" mins the effect does not count. in that case I only put large sums of promerium into my speed generators so that if that bugged still exists, I won't be surprised that I'm not currently getting a speed boost that will affect my gameplay.

 

I find a great combination with Surgeon ship is to have the "Wheel" formation. This will boost your speed from 524 max (with Promerium) to 579 making chasing and escape much easier

You will notice a great difference with the Wheel Formation.

Note your shields will decrease as you are in the Wheel Formation. When I hunt other players I use 2 speed configs, this way once I catch the player I can change to a shielded config for the battle. Practice with this combo, you will get use to it and benefit quite a bit ​

Yes I do exactly the same thing. I am surprised that my speed is minimal

 

Yes I understand that and use the ring formation when in battle but still the speed on normal config say a star is still not as fast.

 

552 is the max speed of the surgeon

 

He probably uses some formation which reduces speed.

Thank you all for assisting the user with their concern. We hope the responses were helpful, as the mentioned above there are ways that speed can be increased and lowered. The max speed for the Surgeon is 579 with all the good stuff and at initial take off it will be in range of a regular goli, as mentioned above you will notice the greater speed in a long run across a map.
