[GI] Transfer system?

Hi, so I haven't played in roughly 10 years, and boy have things changed. Love it, and glad to be back, but I came across an issue that I'm sure is simple. Just won a Goliath in the auction and wanted to transfer over my weapons and shields to my new ship. However, the transfer button seems to be grayed out. Any reason why this is and how to fix it? Thank you in advance

 

you can use thts sistem only with the ships which have the same ammount of lasers/genertators/extras
ex:
you can trasfer stuff from veteran >> golyath >> enforcer >> bastion >> venom etc cauz all have the same stuff

but u cant transfer stuff from vengeance >> golyath etc cauz vengeage have less lasers/gens etc

 

Why is this a thing? So the lf3s that I have currently... I have no way of transferring and I have to buy all new stuff for my goliath..... Why..

 

You can still "transfer" equipment from any ship to another, you just need to unequip it from both configurations on said ship* - and then will be able to equip it onto a different ship.

Of course that's much more tedious than the transfer system, but unfortunately that has limitations on how can use it.


*Some useful controls for moving stuff about(other than just holding left mouse click and dragging stuff):

• Shift+Left click: Selects all items that are the same type (as one mouse is pointed at)
• Ctrl+Left click: Can use to select multiple items at once/select more
  
• Ctrl+Double left click: Equips or unequips selected items/what mouse is pointed at
  
• Shift+Hold left click down: Can use to select multiple items within an area

(The ? next to "BACK" on that page also tells you about those, though the last one forgot about shift. Also thing to the right of "2" can use to just "delete" that whole config, delete aka unequip not sure why they chose that word lol)

This is great. However, im unable to use transfer system between a small starter ship to a Goliath ship. But from Goliath I can transfer only between Goliath type ships?? I don't even have that much, why can't i transfer?
