[GI] What is the Goliath X ship?

I claimed it today, but it wouldn't show up on anything,and I'm just curious, what is it, a ship or other?

 

By "claim" I assume you mean the "ship" from the calendar, that is actually a design for the Goliath-X ship. Which seems as normal you need the ship to use the design of it, like usual*. (though I've missed some days so can't totally verify for myself lol)

*Though the Goliath-X ship at least according to an announcement on the DarkOrbit Discord, should be available in the Shop until the end of January.

The Ship was a reward under the OLD Advent Calendar system where you opened doors to get the bonus and if you did not log in that day you missed the reward.

 

so is the day 25 reward the actual or an actual ship or just another design?

 

@Twotam1 It's a design, you still need to purchase the ship otherwise you cannot use the Legend design.

 

The Calendar is misleading as they say SHIP but they are just cosmetic DESIGNS for the Ship. Most players got the G-X Ship before the NEW REWARDS CALENDAR was launched as a Bonus Reward from the Advent Calendar in July or August.

Imagine you have a black car. Then you paint it pink, the pink version is a skin (design) for the original car's colour which was black.

I hope that comparison clears things up.

I don't know for sure if I had this ship in my hanger because I have a lot of ships, but I have the Lave G X in my hanger now. If I didn't have it before, it was the 11th day bonus gift. As of now I most likely won't man it because I have others I like more. Like all/most Goliath ships it has the same amount of lasers, generators, extras, and a launcher. The only different it has a 2% bonus in laser and experience point. When in Lava mode it doesn't show the bonus (looking at it in the hanger using the "I" information box), but I think its still there. It is in my hanger and has two settings. The first is G X and the second is the Lava G X. Then on the 25th day there is another G X. Having one already it is a wasted bonus to me. I don't think the D O is going to let us have two of the same ship. If it is the same ship I have. I have 9 different Goliath. I run a Goliath Surgeon (Locust) because it has one more generator and has 6% bonus in damage, hit points, and experience points.

Again this is NOT A SHIP but a SKIN for the SHIP already mentioned. The Goliath-X (G-X) is a retrospective Ship from yesteryear that was brought back for the NOSTALGIC player. As with all of the popular ships D O is creating SKINS for them, luckily for those who sign in all of the time we have received everything for the G-X for free, it does PAY to login everyday.

I don't understand. I don't have the ship? There is a G X in my hanger, I can open it up and see all the slots there to make it active. There is a drop down menu too that has the Lava design listed for the G X. So I must have had the ship already, and got the Lava design yesterday.

Most likely you got the G X from last years winter calendar or from one of the special booty boxes.

 

First IF you do not own the ship it has an "O" under it and special times Ships are faded out. Second IF not owned it will not allow you to "Manage" (access the internal ship functions like equipping). I did some research and found when we received the Ship for FREE:

New Ship: Goliath-X

A new ship is being introduced – the Goliath-X

All players logging in on the 11th of December will receive the Goliath-X automatically on login. Also the Goliath-X will be included in the Obsidian Booty Boxes from that day.​

So if you played last years Birthday then you received it at that login.
