  1. What is a member?

    I thought, when you join you are a member. We selected a name and password, and gave you our email. We play and pay to be here at least I do. Do you need to know a secret hand shake to become a real member?

    When I come to the forum, I see "Members Online Now" (in white font) and I see my name (in blue font) and sometimes others.

    The next line I see;
    "Online Now (in white font): Total # (members:#, guests: ##})". I don't know where the other side of the bracket ({) is. If you add Members # and Guests ## does not equal "Online Now" Total #. So who are you not counting.

    Members #'s are usually one digit, and Guests are usually two digits. We should be all members.

    So what gives, and how are you counting us? How do you become a Member?

  2. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it. I've never figured it out either. But I believe the ones you think are not counted could be the Forum Admins. but that's just speculation on my part.

    Still is a good question though.

    Hiya WarriorAngus,

    Members are users who have logged into the game backpage and are looking through the forums, thats all.

    This will make more sense in a bit.

    Remember there is an option to "hide" yourself while looking through the forums, but never invisible from the mods/admins.

    So back to the Online now: 65(all users viewing the forums)

    -Members: 6. You only see 1 user online on the first image and 2 on the second image as I checked my "show online status", but the moderator team is able to see the rest who have their offline status checked.

    -Guests: Users who are not logged into the forums, but who have clicked the forum through a search engine or have the forums bookmarked and are now viewing the forums.

    Here's an peek of my view;

    Certainly the numbers always change as it went from members: 6 to members: 9.

    Thats all it is and we hope your concerns were answered.

  4. @Deter thank you for the information but even with what you show there is a discrepancy of 9 viewing. You show 9 members including yourself (which we usually do not see) and 52 guests for 61 but actually the count was 70 online. We are trying to understand where the other numbers come from? If it was MODS then we could understand this but you say you see all of this and you do not show numbers to equal what is seen.

    Hello,

    I see what you mean, thank you for bringing this up. I'm unclear on that part, but it may be timed out users. We do not believe it's necessary to pass this specific issue up, but will ask around for further clarification if this causes an issue in the future.

  6. Thank you Help and Deter,

    I look at things and wonder.

    I have been a gamer for a long time. I started out in D&D, then figures, and computer games. This is my first online game I join and played. I belong to HMGS (there several HMGS.org now in the US, we were the first sometimes called East HMGS) which is a gaming club. We have 3 convention a year. Two in PA, and one in VA which is going to be moving soon back to PA. It is a 3(2) or 4(1) day event. People come from all over the world to play. We had one guy from Australia. We have a convention this November call "Fall-In" it is one of the 3 day cons. "Sorry got carried away"

    My gamer friends tell me when I look at an item, I just don't see the item as it is, but I see what it could be.

    I saw these numbers and wonder why it didn't add up. Thank you again.

    Angus

    P.S. If you come to the con stop by and have a beer or 6.
