Having some problems with in-game chat. A few months ago this problem was sporadic (some times, but not every time) but in recent weeks the problem seems to be permanent.

On the space-screen, I open the Chat window, and across the top of that window (just below the title bar that reads "Chat") I normally see "tabs" with the names of the chat rooms: Global, VRU, "Clan search", "New player", and "LoS" (that's my clan). Then when I accept an invitation to a group, one additional room "Group" gets added to that list. Not sure about the exact spelling of those names, because it's been a few weeks.

Now the Chat window stays empty, with none of these room names ever showing. No messages ever appear, which I know is not normal because the Global room usually gets a message every few seconds. Upon starting up the space-screen, I sometimes (most of the time?) see the message "The connection to the server was lost." I can accept a group invitation (as shown in the "Group" info window) but nothing changes in the Chat window. I see the button (small circular arrow) labeled "Reconnect to the chatserver" and have tried that many times--no good. I have tried to re-log many times--no good.

I vaguely remember being chat-banned for a short time (quite a while back), but this does not appear to be the same thing (I could be wrong). If banned, then I sorta remember seeing something to that effect in the chat window.

It's frustrating that I have to email group members to tell them about my inability to chat. If a group member is located in the same map sector then I just wiggle my ship side-to-side as if saying the word "No".

If necessary, I can provide my IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) to support, but I don't think that's appropriate here in this forum. My laptop uses WiFi, and my WiFi router is connected to the Internet through "Spectrum" formerly known as Time Warner Cable in Los Angeles.

    Any suggestions?

Unfortunately,it appears to be a general problem,it happens to me and to HelpMeHelpYou.You will just have to be patient and wait until the developers have fixed it.

  3. If it is happening constantly, send support your IP address. I have to get with them about once a quarter. Its strange but happens.

    Hi UtopiaPlanitia12,

We're aware of the issues we all currently deal with on the chat system, the team is working on a new system and we hope that this will solve these frustrating problems in the near future. Have you tried cleaning your cache, checking for updates to your flash and java? If this does not solve your issue, then please do as PSK~SUNDANCE suggested and contact customer support with your IP Address. :)

  5. Please check ur ports are opened or not. You may used old school tool like Netstat or PortQry or Powershell (this toolchain used in windows environment)
Check page timeload and view error connections, you can to use built-in browser devtool (Network Tab) or packet capture tool (wireshark, fiddler, ms netmon or etc)
You can ask your ISP he give you dynamic public IP or Static Public IP (and IPv4 pool addresses which ISP registered own LIR), ISP have Carrier NAT-Grade or another point-to-point protocol.
You may check VPN. If chat is working when you're VPN, maybe your IP is banned
/// This is global problem because IPv4 address exhaustion////\\\Darkorbit's syadmins need resetting their firewall rules\\\
You have old information, you’re need update information.
Game client used Flash Runtimes, Browser page (Angar, Galaxy Gages, Skylab etc) load external libs file extension .js (javascript framework, javascript not java language you need know it)
Chrome said goodbye to Java in April 2015, Firefox in October 2015 and Microsoft Edge dismissed the idea from the very beginning

  6. Thanks to PSK~SUNDANCE and Verse. I have sent a request to support with a copy of the output from my "ipconfig" program, showing all my IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
