[TI] Chat not functioning properly

I am still having problems with the chat function. Sometimes it functions, but mostly it does not. And well, it is sort of annoying if people invite you and you can not chat with them. People might think I am even more boring than I actually am...

 

What server are you playing on? A lot of the Global servers have been experiencing this difficulty lately.

 

For those having this issue you have 2 ways to have this fixed, both require you to do the following;

• post user id
• post server played
• post in game name
• post I P Address

These can be sent to Support or posted in the CHAT Forum to be escalated to the technicians to add you address to the access log.

OK, I am playing on USA east coast
in game name TheDutchAvenger.

Not sure I want to post IP-address and ID number publicly though...

 

The CHAT Forum is only seen by Moderators and Support is not public. As I specified in first response these need to be sent one of these two ways to resolve your chat issue.

 

Most of the time people who have chat issues, experience this due to one of the following:

1. Web Browser is not up to date
2. Flash and java not up to date - or missing plug ins
3. Cache needs to be empty
4. Browser history may need to be cleared.
5. Distance from server
6. Computer graphic overload. (Graphics card slow or not enough Ram).
7. Internet type - Wifi, DSL, cable broadband or phone connection.
8. Programs Running in the Background
9. Clear Flash player data: Can be done at the following link

10. Try a different Browser to see if issue continues.
11. Possible server problem.

These are all things that could be causing the issue, these are just suggestions as to what the issue might be to help you resolve the current problem.

Funny I have lost my chat 3 times since they Updated it in April and every time I lost it it was my IP Address had been kicked from the server and needed to be added back to it for access.

It used to be able to be cleared as you say but if you are getting "Connection to server was lost" it is this issue and not your computer causing the issue. The suggested fixes are good when and IF they make changes to the server programming.

 

The problem i have is that my chat doesn't always scroll as people type. So im thinking to myself, Why did the chat go dead all of a sudden only to scroll and see i missed like 10 minutes of lively chatting
