  1. Lack of balance
    The said notion of the "lack of balance" is not between an idiot in a spearhead against a professional in a Goliath, it is between a skilled Free to Play player versus a skilled Wallet Warrior.

    One player has unfair access to all the tech simply by cashing out money, while the F2P has to spend an unprecedented amount of time in order to get even 1 item. THAT is the lack of balance we're fighting to have fixed.

    And all ships (apart from starter ships, which are all of the Credit ships) are equal in their own, unique way.

    Here's a little breakdown for your pre-pubescent mind ;)
    Those mentioned above are the main ships. Not doing Hammerclaw or Nemesis, cause I don't know them, nor have I tried them out.

    Spearhead was created "weak" in a certain area, because it is strong & unmatched in another. Just like the other ships. Their abilities allow them to make up for their weakness.

    Upcoming patch in late year should fix up the Citadel and Spearhead to be much more suited for PvP as a SUPPORT ship, as they are intended.

    If you boost the Spearhead's base stats, well, its abilities will have to be removed to counter it. You have to remember that it has to be available to others, too

    The Spearhead was created weak in the only way that counts in this so called PvP game and you know it, spare me your attempts to obfuscate that fact by finding a new way of saying "it's a tactical ship" like all the other elitist bullies here in the forum use to hide their inner pansy and continue keeping smaller ships weak.

    For the record a professional in a goliath shooting a Spearhead is still a coward looking for an easy kill at any age, childish or not. Even an idiot can't avoid that fact......What's your excuse?

    I welcome the improvement for all to enjoy.

    Make that ship stronger and you cry after a while to nerf it back. There's a reason why it has abilities like that and a weakness for the equipment as a balance for that ship. @KilerStreak already mentioned everything necessary, what we others tried to already explain, but I thought you don't need so deep explanation.

    Different ships and different tactics are the reason why this game is exciting. If everything was the same and balanced, it would be just boring.
     
  4. Okay, I can understand the reasons being presented for the change. WE ALL agree it does not matter what ship you fly if you are NOT UFE you will almost be guaranteed to die a quick death unless you have a CHEAT you are using. We have thus been forced to use the FASTER less defend-able ships, like Spearhead when doing tedious jobs like Boxing, Pally Field, and Grinding in Lower Maps. I do stand by my original comments;

    Boxing/Recon are about the same, and a SKILLED player can make a fight in any Ship (even a P'nut) but this ship was not designed as a fighter and too many people think it should be. They forget that those 3 (Spearhead, Aegis, & Citadel) ships were designed to be support ships to a group of players and not individual fighting ships, but since so much of the game has become about Solo activities (too few on, that want to grind NPC's unless in Gates) these ships are being seen as incomplete in the usages they are currently played thus requests for them to be changed. IF the Merge works then we might get the populations back that will allow players to use these ships as designed again.


    But this being said, I can also agree that part of the "PROTECTION" to the NPC Farmers and NEW Players could be a PvE ONLY buff to the ship that is LOST as soon as a PvP shot is fired by the PROTECTED Player, but this is assuming D O adds a LEVEL Protection to the Game forcing the UFE to stop HUNTING the 2 shot KILLS of the <FE ships they love to kill (like we did back in the day to OUTLAWS or Same Company Killers) players back to the P'nut Ship (currently OUT OF THE GAME). These BUFFS would only be seen if being attacked in a PvP Battle and not an ALL the time boost to the Ship, but something that is activated as soon as targeted by another Ship to allow time for the Pilot to react to the impending attack, this is also tied to the Target Marker Skill where if this is being used then the BUFF is not accessible, this is for PvE or Collecting Protection ONLY.

    I see the spearhead is a tactical ship and not meant to fight. Okay, Ill box in my spearhead often with full hercs. When I see a cyborg or enemy im almost certainly dead. The Cyborg hits hard it can almost 1shot me plus ice rockets? Im dead. Tart is faster than the spear. Mismses similar to the cyborg but I do have a chance to escape or kill them. If i get away from the cyborg they can pop their venom ability, if i try to jamx them I have to get close and guess what? Im dead because i have to get into close range. My thought on the spearhead is imrpove the jamx ability to remove negative effect of the venom or cyborg without needing to be super close. Also, it could remove the effects or PIB-100 ammo

    Which is why it should have access to either x2 damage like the leo but in all maps or the UC should be active while the spearhead ship is under fire.
