[SC] make a speak to the developers thread

i would like to ask the forum team to press there uppers in bigpoint to make "a ask the the developer a question forum post" ,where the developers are made to answer say the best 10 questions concerning how the game is going on a weekly on going platform .

AS things stands at the moment .
My question would be of course why do you ban cheats only to bring them back with no punishments .or why not just ban them permantly because they are always going to just continue to cheat if you dont .

but you could ask any question to them
for example how is the progress going for another platform when flash support ends

anything you want concerning the developent of the game really

I said in another forum post that Darkorbit has like a 3-man dev team, & their dev teams for the past 2 years have never actually played darkorbit

 

I do not know if I should laugh or cry.

 

keep it going guys .. developers should inform us dont you think on how this game is developing and what should be implemented ,, if they do not ask us this . They will never know what the dark orbit gaming community wants from playing the game .

This is your chance to ask for this on the forums where they reply .

 

Where they reply or where they ban/delete comments. Let´s see what they do this time. Let´s hope it´s not the latter as usual -_-. Again, I know CMs and FMs cannot change things and are the messanger. We are ust asking for YOU to deliver OUR feedback to the poeple who CAN change things.

Give us a way to give our feedback to the people responsible for the game changes and either fix the lag and give us a FAIR compensation for the month we weren´t able to play OR fix the lag and don´t compensate us. 1st option would be better, but we rather have NO COMPENSATION than having this code as compensation. It´s difamatory towards the players, it´s disgusting, it´s WAYYY too less for what we have to endure from you BP.

We understand your concern and while it may seem repetitive please remember this (the EN Forum) is not the only Forums that the Developers get ideas, concerns, and frustrations from readings. There are a few other language forums that have their own "Weekly Reports", which include the communities feel towards the game. Few of these issues may get immediate attention, while others could be set to the side for the moment depending on the available resources at the moment and priority.

With that stated above, your ideas, concerns, frustrations and Event feedback do get forwarded and are not ignored. As Board Admins, we look over all forum sections daily and from that we pass up these issues on to the Developers as part of our "Weekly Report".

Your participation in all of these areas is important to keeping the communication link strong.

Concerning Bots and Cheats, there is a dedicated thread where users can voice their concerns on these issues. Forums>Users' Corner>Speakers' Corner>Bots&Cheats. Bots and any third-party script will be detected by the scripts run by support, a process which is fair for everybody. From there any users who were detected shall receive the appropriate punishment. We Moderators/Admins assist the players in forums and within chat, the in-game element is left to Support and the Developers.

You will see posted on Official/Tech/Event Announcements and Dev' Blog when future issues, ideas, concerns are addressed to the gaming community.

 

I don't mean any disrespect...BUT you can't possible believe that can you? It's a running joke at this point that there are more bots active at any given time than there are real players online. Example: an active Colonel would NEVER just allow himself to be shot by a sergeant. Obviously the scripts are either missing these practices, or are ignoring it on purpose. Use your powers as moderator and log onto the GE3 server, and visit the 5-3 map (any map will do, but there it is the clearest).

 

At this point, I'm not sure how DO should really handle bots.
Banning them doesn't stop anything and I'm pretty sure the game would die if all of the botters quit. What I'm saying is, these bots probably pay enough to keep their account alive.
I think it would be better to have a server to send the bots to if they are suspected of or even confirmed for using programs.
This would keep them out of our maps and DO would keep the revenue.

 

if they can't remove the bots, and can't find a way to keep them from ruining the game for us, than perhaps they should embrace them with open arms and stop this 'we have effective scripts working to remove bots' bs that they keep trying to sell us. Even though i have no doubt about the sincerity of the moderators like Deter and many other devoted members/moderators

However, the situation is way more complicated than just "we can detect them and apply appropriate punishment" and we ALL know that at this point. This being said, although we can understand to SOME EXTENT why the issue is yet to be solved, we would appreciate if you or any other mods for that matter didn´t try to sugar coat things/throw sand to our eyes by saying that every system to detect 3rd party softwares is in place and operational to detect and punish/ban accounts that make use of said programs.

It just gets old and I think it would suit the company and the players better if you announced something along the lines of- We are doing everything in our power to find a way to search, locate and punish every 3rd party programs user. As of right now we are unable to detect some which are well "hidden" and we are sorry for that. Putting it in a way that shows that: 1- you care about us and the game, 2- you are doing SOMETHING about it, 3- the players would be more understanding of the situation, in my opinion 4- it would give everyone hope of a bug, cheating free game in a near future.

 

Admins are not allowed to do anything to someone circling npcs. The long term silence from the team (aside from admins monitoring forums) shows there is a great deal of problems within the infrastructure of the game and they simply don't know how to tell us that a re-write of the majority of the game has come to the table. As many other games have realized the same thing and had to update their systems from the ground up while providing a way to "migrate" player equipment to the new system. From the looks of it id say they are working to get this ready before launching the "unity" upgrade to the game system.

 

Well, let us hope that's the case and that when the migration to Unity happens a good portion of the problems will be solved...

It is good to hear that you (BAs and Mods) are forwarding the Feedback.

Unfortunately the lack of action from the Dev-Team gives the impression that they are ignoring all of our concerns, frustrations and Event feedback...

From Bugs on Test-Servers that aren't fixed when the tested stuff goes live (the cargo-bay issues with some older events come to mind as an example),
to changes in the Events that are not asked for by the players (most memorable was the cooldown during the Ice-labyrinth event, but there was so much more)
or event changes that are actually asked for but never come (converting chromin into honor at the end of the event is still a thing, even though people are not just asking but begging to change this every time the event starts again)

I could give so many more examples it's seriously not even funny anymore...

We are a point of ignorance on the part of the dev team that it is completely unnecessary to open feedback threads for events because the devs don't listen to the Feedback anyway...

How is our participation improtant when we are constantly ignored by the devs?
We never hear from them, they sometimes do things that is the exact opposit of what we ask or they just don't do anything at all...

You guys (BAs and Mods) are telling us the same storys over and over again like a broken record, and I don't blame you, it's not your fault.
You can only give us the infos that the higher-ups pass down to you.

It's the fault of the higher-ups who seemingly don't know what communication is. Because communication is not a one-way thing.
If we tell them what's wrong but they don't reply to us (be it with words or actions) then it's obvious that we are ignored.

HAHAHAHA Good joke.

Bots aswell as other third-party scripts are not detected by the support-scripts.
There are more and more Bots on the maps every day, there are most likely even more bots than real people on the maps.
Auto-locking tools are not detected either.
Auction bots are apparently a thing too, I didn't know that until recently...

Punishment is nonexistent.

Only pushing is punished with a 2 weeks ban and a bit of honor/EXP loss, but that's about it as far a punishment goes...


Reporting bots or auto-locking people to the support does nothing either. All you get is a copy&past reply (and that is not a joke, I tried it multiple times, everytime i got the exact same reply, down to the last comma) only the name at the end is different...

Nothing comes from reporting cheaters, the devs don't do anything to stop them either, the devs don't listen to feedback, etc...

What are we supposed to do?

I'm seriously thinking about quitting for good, because the situation in this game is the worst I've ever seen in any game I've ever played...

 

I pressed "like" on several of the messages above, as you have all expressed opinions I share, but did it in a way far better than I can, as my posts always seem to be deleted. I support what you are saying, even though my voice is denied when I give an opinion.

 

As east 1 is infested with cheats and folks who have made it very clear they can do what they want I just did the easy thing. Bought other games. I come in and do the daily but there is no more money going into a game ran by shadey people who only enforce the TOS when they feel like it.

Case in point: Selling ships. Why do you think there are bots in the first place? Do you really believe its just players selling them? How many special tool using clans are also home to staffers? How do they get their ships unbanned so easily. We had one well known cheater brag during the last ban wave that he didnt care he had botted so much uri and had so many log disks he had his ship back to full in 2 weeks. *YES HE DID*

Yeah. Thats right. We know. Its not a secret even though you ban anyone that points out or says who a mod is in the game.
